My favorite family cooking traditions
I would have to say that my favorite is our Thanksgiving meal. Although there are many other things that we make together, such as tacos, meatloaf, and my mom's delish chicken and dumplings, Thanksgiving is the ice cream on top of the cake, the cream of the crop if you will.
My cooking triumphs
Well just learning how to cook in general to me is a triumph, and all of you who are here cooking should give yourselves a pat on the back. When thinking about dishes that I have made that have been a triumph, I will have to say me making an entire Thanksgiving meal on my own was my biggest one. At that point, I realized that I truly had passed my Suzy Homemaker test.
My cooking tragedies
Oh my. One time I was making homemade tacos for my family, with sides of homemade Spanish rice and just some good ol' refried beans. Of course as you are cooking, it is inherent that you check on what it is you are making, and when I checked on my rice, then tasted it, I gasped. Some of the grains were complete mush and others were super crunchy. It ended up turning into some Spanish flavored goo. It was terrible.
