About this Cook
I'm not much of a cooker, in that I don't cook often; but when I do cook, I love to go all out. I still am trying to find my niche and cater the recipes more to my taste, but I'll get there soon enough. After all, learning to cook is trial and error.
My favorite things to cook
Dessert and anything stovetop. I found this recipe one year when I was cooking for the holidays called a buttery cinnamon bundt cake. Absolutely delicious and one of my favorite desserts to cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We don't use measuring cups in my house. When I was younger, my mom taught me to use a mug (up to a certain line) for a cup, a large spoon for a tablespoon and a smaller spoon for a teaspoon. It's always worked out for me, and I feel like not having exact measurements adds personality to the food.
My cooking triumphs
My first time making guacamole, I was missing some of the ingredients and I used non-ripe avocados. I thought it would be a disaster, but after a lot of work, my guacamole turned out pretty good, so much so that my mom kept returning to stick in her finger.
My cooking tragedies
I kind of made up this tomato chicken recipe once and it was very delicious and moist. Problem was I never wrote down the recipe, so when I tried making it again, the chicken was dry and the veggies overcooked. Thankfully it was still edible, but not as good as I would have liked.

Apple Spice Cake
Delicious cake!! I didn't have any allspice, so I used ground clover instead (only two dashes since it has such an overpowering flavor). I even made a sauce to drizzle on top thinking the cake might not be moist, but it turned out I didn't need it and wasted the sauce. Only problem was getting the cake out of the pan. Next time I will pour a little bit of plain batter in first and then add all the fruit since it was the raisins that kept the cake from coming out.
