Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
I made this twice in a week! Even though it is summertime, it is a cool dessert that my whole family loved! I'm not big on nuts, but I followed the recipe to the "T" and the pecans made it what it was! WONDERFUL!

Maureen's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
I gotta be another addition to the 5 stars! It was interesting because I made it the same day my Dad made chili, and although they look similar, the tastes were so different!

I really enjoyed the freshness of this salad! The mint gives it a whole new twist! Thanks!

California Grilled Veggie Sandwich

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
This is really fantastic! I didn't follow it exact...(I used whatever was growing in the garden), and it turned out great! My favorite thing about it is the dressing. That is going to be a ritual sandwich spread for me from now on!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
SO MOIST! I really enjoyed this recipe! Next time I would like to try honey as a sweetner just because there is so much sugar in this, but then again, that's what makes it bad for you and so tasty at the same time! Thanks!

Byrdhouse Blistered Cherry Tomatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
I made a huge dinner for my family using what is in the garden and this was the quickest and easiest thing I made! It was their favorite!.. (besides dessert of course). I wished I would've just made these! Being a huge fan of garlic, I added a bunch of it and it was delightful! Also, you're instructions were great and the tomatoes blistered pefectly! THANKS

Thai Peanut Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
This was very good! My only problem was that it was too salty, so I decreased the soy sauce and increased the peanut butter, (I use Organic). I also increased the broccoli the second time around. Next time I think I will add a variety of veggies, but the basis for this recipe is nice!

Minted Marinated Zucchini

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2008
Maybe it was the type of mint I used, but this recipe just wasn't it for me. I found the mint to be overwhelming and it just wasn't what I was expecting. I was just trying to use up some zucchini so it's no great loss.

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2008
For the sheer simplicity of it all, this was FANTASTIC! I had no yeast and had such a craving for pizza so this was a lifesaver! I used one egg, as others suggested, (though 2 might have been fine because I had to spread the dough out it was so thick). I think one made it more like a pita bread and two might make it more like a dough. Also, I went nut-so on seasoning the dough with oregano, basil and garlic powder, (it was practically green when I was done with it), and it was great! Thanks for the recipe!

Quesadilla Jalapeno Spread

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2008
What a great recipe! I had jalapenos coming out of my ears and decided to make this dip. So I used fresh finely chopped jalapenos, I didn't use cumin, I added cherry tomatoes from the garden, tripled the garlic, and WHA-LA! It was so pretty too! The tomatoes gave it a great color, while using fresh jalapenos made all the difference! Thanks for a great dip to work with!

Mexican Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2008
This recipe is a keeper in my book! Like others said, I may never go back to store bought tortillas again! I quartered the recipe since I was only making them for quesadillas and I only had all-purpose flour, (though I wish I had wheat). I let this sit for the minimum time of an hour. They were so thin and soft, yum! My quesadillas turned out great! THANKS!

Fried Cabbage II

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2008
This fascinated me how well it turned out. The whole time I was preparing it, it seemed like it wasn't going to be very good and I thought the bacon would be the best part about it, but I was WRONG! This was a fabulous recipe and farely easy to make! Next time I will try someones suggestion of garlic and onion as a sub for the bacon because I try not to eat alot of meat. As is though, 5 stars!

Eggplant Snack Sticks

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
YUM! I really enjoyed this recipe! I had an eggplant I needed to use and this was just what I felt like. I didn't use wheat germ however (I didn't have any) so I subbed in wheat flour and it turned out great! I also increased the garlic and italian seasoning to my preference. I'm guessing the original recipe is just as good!

Baked Cherry Tomatoes with Garlic

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
I like to think that "simple" is better when it comes to ingredients and this recipe proves that! Very light and delicious, but be forewarned that even if the outside feels cool enough to eat, the inside is still very hot. I am a drizzling moron, (I waste too much oil when I drizzle), so I just made a spot on the pan where I rolled the tomatoes in the oil. I stuck to the recipe, (expect I prefer sea salt), and it was a delightful sidedish.

Cherry Tomato Corn Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
Ok, I have tried many different salad ideas from this website, and this one takes the cake! I think because I used homegrown corn, tomatoes, and cucumbers, it had such a wonderfully sweet intensity. I stuck to the exact recipe and there really is no reason to change a thing! My only recommendation is to go to a farmers market if you don't have your own garden and buy fresh local produce instead of buying the tasteless tomatoes and corn at the grocery store.

Garden Fresh Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
This was good. I like that it has a very fresh taste to it, but I don't think it's worth making again. HOWEVER, I must admit that I followed other reviewers advice and added italian spices to it. That made it taste like a runny spaghetti sauce instead of tomatoe soup.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2008
Sorry, I can't give this recipe 5 stars. It looked wonderful, smelled wonderful, and didn't taste too bad, but the parm made it taste too salty for my liking. This is a good recipe for people who don't like the taste of fish. Maybe next time I will reduce the parmesan and sub in another cheese that's less salty.

Crepes

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2008
This recipe is great for a versatile crepe. I had leftover mix the next morning and made it like an omelette with veggies inside. Definitly a keeper as far as quick and easy is concerned.

Broccoli Salad IV

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2008
This was so great! I had broccoli growing in the garden and I wanted to try something new with it besides putting it in my salads or steaming it with cheese. THIS WAS A HIT! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2008
This is my favorite recipe website... but my beef is "PEOPLE NEED TO GIVE THE ORIGINAL A CHANCE!" I see everyone changing this and that before they even try the REAL DEAL! So, this is one of those recipes that doesn't need "fixed" or "altered". They are only chewy when warm, but they always taste great!
