Lemon Sponge Pie I

This is the way to go if you like lemon pie but don't like meringue. I followed the recipe exactly and had about 1 cup left over after filling my 9 inch crust. I baked the extra in a custard cup for about 30 minutes. I was a little concerned about the slightly curdled texture when tasting the extra, but I must have overbaked it as the actual pie was creamy and delicious! I will be making this for years to come!!

Toffee II

This was so easy to make and tasted just like a Heath candy bar! I will be useing this again for sure. Followed the recipe exactly. Be sure to stir the entire time so the sugar doesn't burn!! After the chocolate was melted and smooth, I placed the dish in the fridge to speed up the cooling. Then broke into pieces and used in a chocolate trifle...YUM! This was my first time making toffee and I would for sure recommend this recipe to anyone.

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

I like my cookies a little more chewy so I only used 3/4 cup of butter. But otherwise followed the recipe exactly...and this is a great recipe! One that I will be using many more times...and will recommend to anyone :)

White Almond Wedding Cake

This is a deliciously moist and visually appealing white cake. I have made this more times than I can count and just realized I have not reviewed! I would rate this a 10 if I could! Don't tell, and no one would ever know this started as a box mix :)

Lemon Custard Filling

After following the advise of Scott d BBQ man, I changed the method of adding ingredients. I combined the dry mix with water and cooked till thick. Then tempered in the yolks and cooked about a minute longer. Then added in the lemon juice....and as I'm writing this I realized I forgot the butter!! Oops! After adding the juice, I removed from the heat. This will be my go to recipe every time I need a thick lemon filling or custard! Even without the butter, it's delicious!!!

Fluffy Pancakes

Original Irish Cream

Delish!! I followed the recipe exactly. I think there may be a bit too much chocolate syrup to be exactly like Bailey's. I will cut back some next time...and there will be a next time! So thick and rich and delicious....YUM!

Baby Blue Punch

I made this for a boy baby shower and it was very cute and very tasty! The only complaint is that the vanilla icecream makes a greasy film around the edge of the bowl that looks a little yucky. Otherwise, this tastes great and is a very cute idea!

Cheese Straws

I'm only giving 4 stars because as stated in the recipe, they would have been just ok. But with a few changes, these were delicious!! I added 3 cups of freshly gratd extra sharp cheddar and baked for 15 minutes at 375. The lower temp and longer baking time made for a crisp yet still lightly golden brown straw! I rolled the dough to 1/8 inch thickness and cut with a fluted pastry cutter and then moved to a silpat lined cookie sheet. I will be making these for years to come :)

Simple 'N' Delicious Chocolate Cake

YUM!!! If you are looking for a great chocolate recipe for cupcakes....this is it!! All the other chocolate cake recipes that I have tried to use for cupcakes don't turn out well. They either sink or stick to the liners. But this recipe turns out great :)

Creamy Frosting

I have been searching for an old fashioned buttercream recipe and this is it!!! I don't like the powered sugar recipes and this tastes nothing like them! It is sooo yummy....I will be using this for many years and would recommend this to ANYONE!!!

Strawberry Chantilly

This recipe has been in my family for generations and over the years the name was changed to strawberry yummy because it is so yummy!! If you are looking for something light and refreshing this is it!!! The only thing that I differ from the recipe is, whether I and using frozen berries or not I always use 2/3 cup sugar and 2 cups berries. If using frozen, they must be thawed!

Fresh Strawberry Upside Down Cake

Yum, yum, yum!!! This cake is so good....I have made it twice in the past 3 weeks. The second time I forgot to add the marshmallows and the strawberry goo did not seep into the cake as well, so DO NOT forget them!!! Both times I used a scratch made cake and added the batter to the berries as directed in the recipe. If you like strawberries, you can't go wrong with this one!! *Update* I have made this too many times to count already!! My family loves it!! I also did a brownie version which was delicious...just replace the cake batter with brownie batter and bake until set. Delicious!!!

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Dutch Letter Cookies

These are exactly like the ones I get when I got to the Amish bakery in Jamesport MO. I Have been searching for a recipe to duplicate these, and this is it!!! FANTASTIC!!! And actually not a difficult as I thought they would be. Only took about 15 minutes to roll out and get in the oven! I will be making these for MANY years to come!

White Velvet Cutouts

These turned out great for the suckers I did. I rolled them a little thick and because of that had to bake them a little longer. They were soft but still held up well! I will be using this every time I need cutout cookies!!

Ham and Chicken Casserole

This is very yummy. I replaced the celery with broccoli because my family likes it better. I may have added a little more chicken too...I didn't measure! This came out creamy and delicious. I will be making this often!

Caramels

This was my first attempt at caramels and they were delicious!! You really need a large amount of free time or someone else in the house to watch the kids, answer the phone, and any other sort of thing that may distract you from the pot. I made these for our Christmas cookie tray and everyone loved them! Also I used some of the batch to make caramel brownies a few weeks later...just melted them down with a splash of evaporated milk and poured over brownie batter and baked as directed....delicious!!
