Lasagna Alfredo

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
This turned out really good! Next time I will use homemade alfredo sauce (there's a great recipe on here for it) instead of the jar kind. I don't care for alfredo in the jar, but since homemade alfredo doesn't reheat well I will probably only make half the recipe.

Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
This is great for that one-dish-and-done dinner. I've also cooked it in the oven. Turning it over when it's wrapped in foil doesn't really work, cause the liquid leaks out (duh), but you can get away with stirring it and covering it back up. Otherwise the stuff on the bottom will burn.

Bacon Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2008
This turned out to be very good - the chicken was very moist and the bacon was FABULOUS!! I'd almost cook it just for the bacon! I used chicken broth instead of beef because that's what I had, but otherwise followed the recipe. The only thing I'd do differently is to add more salt, pepper & thyme after taking the bacon off and putting the chicken back in to brown the skin. Most of the seasoning stuck to the bacon.

Mom's Baked Egg Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2012
These were really good, although they did overflow the regular size muffin pan. I think this would also be good with biscuit or crescent rolls. We didn't use the maple syrup but I think next time I will do it for half. The family loved these!

Easy Grilled Chicken Teriyaki

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
This recipe was way too salty, the chicken tasted like teriyaki beef jerkey. I will not make this again, and I would recommend anyone who gives it a try to use half the sesame oil and marinate for only a few hours.

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2011
I added an extra chicken breast and a bit more chicken broth, but it realy is great as-is. More of a cold-weather meal though. I messed up and added the rice seasoning to the chicken broth, but it didn't matter.

Crispy Oven-Roasted Rosemary Chicken with Sausage and Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
This was very tasty, although pretty greasy. It definitely doesn't need 1/4 cup of oil, next time I'll just use non-stick spray so the brats don't stick to the pan. I drained the chicken and potatos on a paper towel after pay frying, and there was still ample grease in the dish after baking (presumably from the bratwurst). Everyone really liked it though!

Chef John's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2012
This is a really tasty recipe, coming from someone who really hates boxed mac 'n cheese. Next time I will use less pasta though, cuase with a whole 16 oz box there is not much cheese to the mac. Chef John's video showing how to make it does explain this up front, if you want a creamier, cheesier (and fattier) outcome then just use less pasta (by as much as half). I think I'll try 12oz next time. Also, definitely use the panko bread crumbs rather than just any kind, there is a big difference.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
This sauce recipe is outstanding. We used another recipe from Allrecipes for meatballs and combined the meatballs with this sauce and angel hair pasta. It was a fantastic dinner. The sauce is not too sweet and not too bitter. You can taste just a hint of the wine. This will be our go to marinara sauce from now on.

Lemon Basil Pesto Flat Iron Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
The pesto sauce is fabulous just like this, and could be put on almost anything. I think I'll try it on cold pasta. Thanks!

Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze

Didn't care too much for the strong vinegar taste.

Holiday Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2014
I left out the cranberries and bell pepper, I thought the celery would add enough crunch. I almost didn't add the second 1/2 cup of pecans, 1 cup was a lot. I might do 3/4 c next time. I also added 2 chopped hard boiled eggs. I'm not a fan of chicken salad, but my hubby requested some and I will say this recipe is pretty good.

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2013
This is really yummy and easy to make. The batter is very thick but it comes out great. I tried putting some of the cinnamon pecan topping on the bottom of the bundt pan once (so that it would be on top when I flipped it over), and it just burnt a little and wasn't as good.

Unbelievable Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2010
This is very tasty. I used apple cider vinegar (couldn't find regular cider vinegar, if there is such thing), and there was no vinegar taste after the chicken was cooked. It did not dry out on the grill, was very tender and juicy, even after reheating leftovers in the microwave. Best grilled chicken marinade I've found. Marinated for about 8 hours in the fridge.

The shallots were too oniony for me, if I make this again I'll leave them out.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
Very good, use real bacon though. I marinated the chicken in the teriyaki sauce overnight first, instead of brushing it on.

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
This is a very tasty sauce, and broiling cooks it just right. But I'm not a fan of chicken thighs at all. May try this again with chicken breast, but will have to grill or pan fry instead of broil.

Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
This is really very good, my only recommendation is to stir it every 5-10 mins while it's cooking. Otherwise it gets a curdled cheese consistency. We add chopped bacon to it and it's great.
