Rosemary Pork Roast

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2012
Simple and Fantastic! Used all the ingredients that most anyone would have on hand in their kitchen and produced a BEAUTIFUL cut of pork. I didn't alter the recipe a bit other than to stuff the slivers of Garlic down in some holes poked in the loin and this thing came out as great as some pork dishes I've had at 5-star restaurants here in Dallas. TRY IT - you won't be disappointed.

Smoky Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2013
Fantastic! Another winner for weeknight meal-in-a-hurry! A recipe with things I've always got in my pantry and that I can throw together in no time. I took others advice and used the wet ingredients as a base for the dry rub and then threw my 1-inch thick chops under the broiler (since it's February and about 40 outside) for about 5-6 minutes on each side. Perfect! Combined with some mashed potatoes, brown gravy, and a salad and even my 3-year old was asking for seconds!

Teriyaki Marinade

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2013
Super recipe! I needed something quick to throw together for dinner for the family and had nearly all of the ingredients on hand. This is a VERY forgiving recipe and even with a few ingredients missing and by just throwing in the things I had we had a terrific meal of chicken, veggies, and noodles stir-fry on the table in less than 20 minutes. Thanks for an awesome weeknight meal keeper!

Justin's Rice-O Mexican-O

The obligatory 5 stars from the author of the recipe - though I don't feel as bad about giving to myself since my 2 year old just ate enough of this one to earn it the rating!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2012
My absolute go-to bread recipe even in a recipe box overflowing with bread recipes! By simply following the steps you can't go wrong and this is quite possibly the most versatile and adaptable bread recipe on the entire site. I've made it just as written and gotten rave reviews and taken other's advice, dropped the sugar to around 1/4 cup, and had the same people raving again! The sugar content definitely makes all the difference in the world with more sugar equaling a denser bread. I've used this recipe to make everything from sweet breakfast breads to salty herb-filled Italian bread by tweaking the sugar and add-ins and just couldn't be happier with it either way. Take the time to give this one a shot and you may just toss your other recipes - with this one, one is all you need!

Chef House's "Mature Moment" Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
Best biscuit recipe I've found yet! Easy enough to make for breakfast with my 17 month old running around my legs and a hungry 135lb Mastiff growling at me and still come out perfect in no time with no changes at all to the original recipe!

Justin's Stolen Taco Meat Seasoning Recipe

Reviewed: May 27, 2011
Fantastic flavor! I'm a spice-loving man so I doubled the ingredients for 1.5 lbs of ground beef and took the advice of another reviewer to brown my meat in water. You would have thought you just sat down to dinner at your favorite Tex-Mex restaurant! This one is definitely going in my box as the go-to taco recipe. Thanks for a super recipe!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
Perfect! I MIGHT have added just a touch of cinnamon and a tsp or so of vanilla, but nothing that would fundamentally changed the recipe and it could not have been better. Far and away the best banana bread recipe I've ever tried. I mixed up everything other than the dry ingredients in my KitchenAid - threw everything in at once - and then folded in the dry ingredients by hand. Only two dishes to clean up. I then baked on the next to lowest rack in the oven for about 50-55 minutes and it came out browned and beautiful, smelling like banana heaven! Look no further - the banana bread recipe for everyone is right here!

Cinnamon Coffee Cake II

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
ABSOLUTELY fantastic! Don't change a thing if you don't have to! The only thing I modified was I was to leave out the nuts because of a 3 year old who is allergic. I have never tasted a more delicious and moist coffee cake! Couple that with the incredible simplicity of this recipe and you've got a 5-star recipe that is my new go-to for breakfasts and family get-togethers. Thanks so much for the amazing recipe!

E-Z Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2013
I've tried this recipe a number of times now and it has now become my family's favorite! I've found that it's very versatile and can make DISTINCTLY different biscuits based on nothing more than what you do with the butter. If you MELT the butter, like the instructions say, and pour it in with the milk, you have fantastic drop-style biscuits with no changes to the original recipe. If you GRATE cold butter into the dry ingredients before adding the milk, the drop in liquid makes a perfectly smooth traditional biscuit dough that can be rolled out and cut into biscuits that rise and give the most amazing texture. After cooking for large crowds at our church, I've found this recipe fits my rule: the simpler the better!

Pie Crust IV

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
Fantastic! I found myself short two-pie crusts on Thanksgiving afternoon when the two refrigerated crusts from the store turned out to be far too small for my apple pie. - ONE TIP - Don't be surprised when even a single recipe rolls out FAR bigger and thicker than you expect. Mine went into the pie pan far thicker than most pie crust recipes, but I got rave reviews and had many requests for the recipe. This turns out wonderfully moist and flaky. Perfect for a moist pie like apple or cherry where the extra crust helps hold in the filling.

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
Fantastic! My wife iseven on a ZERO-dairy diet so I had to substitute soy milk (with a little vinegar) and margarine for the butter and buttermilk and it was STILL amazing! It definitely took a LOT longer to cook than the directions indicate (mine took over 2 hours) but still comes out moist and delicious. This one is added to the recipe book and will be brought out regularly!

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
Fantastic Recipe! We had this for Christmas breakfast and couldn't have asked for a better cold-weather treat! I did adjust the recipe a little, but only by baking the recipe (as is) in a 9x9 metal cake pan and adding about 10 minutes to the cooking time since our 2 year old was excited about making a B-day cake for Jesus on Christmas morning. The strudel topping made an excellent "icing" and he had several big pieces all by himself. Delicious, moist, and filling, I could have eaten the whole thing by myself!

Chewy Coconut Cookies

Fantastic!! My wife has been on a no-dairy diet since the arrival of our newest little bundle of joy and I've been HURTING to find recipes that use no milk products and still taste like something you actually want to eat! With the simple modification of using vegan margarine in place of the butter we've found one of our newest favorites! Thanks so much for a super recipe to help cure our sweet-tooth!

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
Fantastic recipe! I made only a few minor adjustments, including about 1/4 cup corn meal into the breading and a few extra spices like seasoned salt and extra red pepper since I'm a pepper head! I couldn't fit all the chicken I made in my skillet, so I decided to try it both fried and baked (based on some other reviews) and found that both came out crispy, juicy and delicious. Definitely a keeper in my book!

Tomato Green Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
This recipe was a fantastic and filling meal when combined with salad and homemade bread sticks, even for a meat-eater like myself! I made a few changes, as I didn't have any fresh tomatoes on hand, so I substituted with one 6oz can of tomato paste and one 28oz can of crushed tomatoes. Since I also didn't have any fresh basil, I substituted about 2Tbs of dried and by the time it was on the table everyone in the room (and even my 2 year old from his high chair) was giving the soup rave reviews! Definitely a keeper!
