Corned Beef and Cabbage I

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2015
Wow! This was so easy and my family LOVED it! I mostly followed this recipe except we LOVE garlic so I added a few teaspoons, 1 can of beer and I cooked the cabbage separately. It was in the crockpot for about 9 hours. It was the BEST I have ever made. Served with Irish soda bread. Mmmmmmmmmmm good! Thank goodness I made TWO since the first was gone at dinner and we need to have Rubens tomorrow!! Thank you for posting this recipe!

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2013
Awesome chili! Great flavor, nice texture and very simple. My teenage sons LOVED it! I adjusted to make with 3 lbs ground beef. I followed most of this recipe to a T. I added a little color with switching up the beans with 1 can light, dark kidney beans, 1 can northern, 1 can black beans.. I also used what I had in house and used diced with juice instead of tomato juice. I also make it into chili mac with cooking elbow noodles and keep them both in separate crockpots for a self serve saturday. A little cheese or sour cream and it's a meal! This is a keeper in our home.

Oven Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2011
These are a great side to any meal. My family loves roasted potatoes and these do not disappoint! I thought the seasoning was a little spicy but I don't do spices very well (for myself) but my teenager sons and husband LOVED these. I made them with the Herb rubbed sirloin tip roast from this sight. A Great meal for all! Enjoy!! PS. I had left overs and reheated for breakfast with eggs for a great morning meal too! In this age where every penny counts... don't waste leftovers!

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2011
I make these every year for my co workers and now my husbands co workers. They do take time and you do need to watch how fat you make the dough but they are SOOO worth the time and efforts. I had extra I passed out to my neighbors that came by on Halloween for the parents I know. Thank you for this recipe. PS. this year I used Neon Green food color and the fingers were AWESOME...even the "thumbs" I made .....giggle...

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2011
Great Flavor! I made this with a 4.75lb rolled roast. Rubbed seasoning all over meat and let it sit for about 1 hour. I then put it in a shallow pan with a rack on the bottom. Per another reviewer, I added a cup of beef broth to help with making gravy after. I cooked this at a 325 oven for 1 hour, then 30 min at 350 until temp was about 135 and then took it out and sat it on my counter covered with foil for about 30 min for a PERFECT med rare roast. SOOOOO tender and great flavor. My three teenage sons and husband finished the whole roast for dinner! They left me one slice ...so nice of them :) I will be making this for years to come. Thank you for this recipe! btw- the gravy was Wonderful with the drippings....I saved the broth I was not going to use from this to make gravy, in ice cubes in the freezer for making soup or more gravy in the future.

Greek Lemon Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2011
I made this for the first time today and it turned out GREAT! I did not have any fresh lemons but used lemon juice instead, and as per other reviews I only used 4 egg yokes. I added leftover chicken and put white rice in bowls and poured soup over....Perfect! My teenage sons thought it was a nice light soup on a hot day. It does have a strong lemon flavor but we enjoyed it very much!

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2010
A favorite at our house for sure! I made 15 servings for dinner tonight. My children all had friends over and I needed something cheap, but filling and easy and this was it! I only had 4 large chicken breasts but cut it up into small bites and seasoned with poultry seasoning, garlic powder and a bit of ginger, simmered in water and then drained and set aside. Made everything else as written and ALL the teenagers had at least seconds! A nice change than just Pizza for a group of kids! Next time I'll make egg rolls too! Thanks!

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2010
Made this for the first time tonight and my WHOLE family Loved it! I changed a little to fit my three teenage sons who eat me out of house and home. I used 1 bag of 2.5lb frozen chicken tenders (Target brand) and defrosted them and cooked them in a little garlic and oil. Set aside. I then cooked one bag of fresh spinage in same pan until soft. In the mean time I cooked 1 1/2lbs of pasta. Transfered spinage as first layer in a casserole pan. Then added cooked pasta and then the chicken. I made the sauce as stated except that I did not have any 1/2 & 1/2 so I just used 2% milk. I had bacon bits left over from our superbowl party and just used those. I added a liitle extra milk and some more garlic salt to taste and then baked for 20 min. YUM!! and I had plenty for lunch tomorrow and snacks for after school. Thank you for the quick and easy idea! Will certainly be making this again!

Caramelized Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
Wow! HUGE success! I made 5 lbs of wings for the superbowl party we had. They were GONE in maybe 10 min! I just wish I had more! I made sauce on stove and used cornstarch as others suggested. I took each wing and dipped in the sauce and then let them soak for a hour in fridge before baking. Baked 1 hour on 375. The taste....WOW! I did think I would ad more cornstarch to thinken even more but the taste is Great! Everyone wanted more. I'm planning on making chicken breasts tonight with this receipe! Yum! Yum! Yum! Thank you VERY much for the great post!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2009
WOW! Perfect in every way! I made these for our “bring a treat in to work” today. Everyone LOVED them! I have made these at least 10 times and each time they raved about! The only thing I do is make twice as much “crumble” and put some in the bottom of each cup cake liner and then more on top! Thank you VERY much for sharing such a FANTASTIC recipe! One thing I would like to share is that I personally never have enough ripe bananas in the house. So, I put the greener / light yellow ones in a paper bag with a whole apple and close it up. Leave it alone on my kitchen counter overnight and the next day they are ripe! The apple releases gas that ripens the bananas fast. Enjoy!!

Simple Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2009
Need a large meal on a budget? With 3 teenage sons (eating machines), who are active in sports, I am always looking for filling meals that I can make extras of for the “I’m hungry mom” times that come so often in our house. To make my life easier, I make a lot and put into containers in the fridge for my boys. I use 3 pounds of ground chuck, 1 large onion- cook and drain. Add fresh garlic, onion salt (about 1 tsp), worstershire (1 tbl) 1 large can cream of mushroom soup (about 26oz), beef broth (about 2-3 cups depending on what pot I cook in), 2 cans mushroom pieces and simmer for about 10 min. while the egg noodles are cooking. Just before serving, I add about 1 cup sour cream to make it creamy and pour over egg noodles. I don’t care for pepper, but my boys always add pepper to it. They ask for this about every two weeks, so it’s a keeper! This makes about 12 meals – good size too! Works on our budget and fills my boys up!! Thanks for posting!

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
My teenage boys LOVED these! I have 3 eating machines in my house and was needing to find a meal to use up some fresh green peppers I had that was filling. WOW! This was certainly it! I made 8 peppers and just about doubled the recipe. At first, when they saw a green pepper on their plates for dinner, they thought it was a joke...BUT My boys cleaned their plates and had more later after baseball! I did add cheese to the bottom of the peppers before adding rice etc... Will certainly add this to my "must make meals". Next time I will try in a crock pot while I'm at work. Thanks for the recipe! Yummy!
