Chorizo Burger

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2006
These were great! I followed the recipe exactly and my husband loved them. I used 96% lean hereford sirloin and the burgers were not to greasy and not to dry. This will be a regular at our hous. The red pepper sauce is good used as a dip too.

Deer Poppers

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2005
I have to give this 5 stars even though I changed one thing. I'm not a fan of jalapeno peppers so I used pepperoncini which gives it heat but not so much that it covers the taste. My husband who said he's never had venison cooked any way he liked...liked these!I snuck one in and told him it was beef. I made some using cubed beef steak (which will be served during the rest of the year when it's not hunting season)and everyone liked them also but the venison was the winner between the two. These can also be made in the oven I cooked them at 400 for 15 minutes then put them under the broiler to crisp up the bacon.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2005
I'd give this a 5 except I changed a couple of ingredients to use what I had in the house...I used 1/2 jar of Hooters med sauce in place of the pepper sauce and 2 foil packs of chicken. I made it on vacation one morning before leaving for the day so it could have time for the flavors to mix and we all ended up eating it for breakfast! Thanks for the recipe.

Chocolate Lovers' Favorite Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2005
If you like chocolate you'll love this cake! I didn't have almond extract so I added some chopped almonds and it tasted great! I also didn't have a wire rack to cool it on so I tried to use the microwave rack...don't try it. It sunk through so I ended up picking up hot cake and trying to put it back together on a plate.:) Still tasted great smashed. lol

Bacon Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2005
I just made this last night and hubby loved it. Changes I made...1/2 lb bacon, 1 stalk chopped celery, I used 3 leftover baked potatoes, fat-free 1/2 and 1/2 (only 2 cups),low fat biscuit mix with skim milk. Turned out great. We'll have this many times over the coming winter I'm sure.

No Bake Lemon Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2005
I used to make this all the time then lost the recipe. After reading the reviews try chilling the evaporated milk. I kept a can in the fridge just for this dessert. Thanks for posting it.

Sock it to Me Cake V

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2005
I only had to bake this for an hour. Thank goodness I decided to check it then. Good flavor but I think even after an hour it was a little over done. Next time I think I'd alternate the cake layers and filling layers at least twice.

Butter Beef

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2005
I had to skim off some of the butter after it was done. We used it on sandwiches first which my husband loved then added milk and sour cream to the rest and served over noodles. I'll make this again with a little less butter.

Crab Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2001
This is a great summer salad. I especially like the crab. I use Paul Newmans Balsamic Vinagar Dressing. i tried another but it just didn't give it the flavor it needed.
