Fall-Apart Pork Stew

I made this over the weekend and WOW it was one of the best stews I have ever, ever had. My only regret? There were no leftovers. I'll definitely be doubling next time (it did feed two adults, a teenage boy, and 3 little kids and no one was left hungry although some of us would have liked more).

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Substitute lemon flavoring for the vanilla and use it to frost a lemon cake.... SUPER YUMMY. This is some of the best frosting I've had in a long time.

Seafood Salad Supreme

Great recipe!!! I've made this recipe many, many times and it is now a family fave. I add a little more lemon juice and seasonings, and in order to cut costs I sometimes add a little less seafood. Sometimes I change up the veggies I add too, depending on what I have on hand or what I forgot to buy. All in all this is a fabulous recipe. Thanks for sharing.

Bagels II

I've made these three times now, and will definitely be making them again. My husband eats a bagel for breakfast before work every day, and likes these better than store bought. I added a couple heaping tablespoons of dried onion to the flour for an onion variety too, with great result.

Easiest Slow Cooker French Dip

I tried this recipe and it was a huge hit with all 7 of us, and that's a rare thing indeed. I will be making it again and again, only I'll be using a larger roast so that we can have leftovers!

This is a hit. One warning, it makes a LOT of soup. With a family of 7 I double pretty much all recipes, but doubling this required me to use two 8 quart pots, both full almost to the brim. Still, it was so good we ate a pot and a half and finished the rest up the next day.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

This is our go-to cornbread recipe, and we love cornbread. I can't even count how many times we've made it now, but it's well over 10. The one alteration we make is to use powdered buttermilk instead of the real thing, simply because it's easier to keep powdered buttermilk on hand (it's found near the regular powdered milk in the baking aisle).

Balsamic Bruschetta

THIS WAS SOOOO GOOD. We ate it with grilled chicken, spinach, and feta cheese in as a wrap. Sophisticated, yet even the kids loved it. We will be making this again. We used to buy bruschetta from Sam's Club for $$$, but I was able to make the same amount, that tasted BETTER, for well under half the price.

Eggplant Parmesan II

A good recipe and a tasty result. It didn't make the "please make it again right away" cut with the family, however, so that is why 4 instead of 5 stars. Still, every one of the 7 of us had seconds, so it wasn't bad either. Since eggplant is a seasonal veggie anyway, having this once or twice a year is good enough.

Mom's Macaroni and Cheese

Add some crispy bacon to this, and my people are in love. Too bad I don't like it at all. But my hubby and kids like it so much that I make it occasionally and buy myself a microwave dinner.

Classic Fried Rice

Tasty, and close enough to what we love at restaurants that we will be making it again. I did add more seasonings, and tossed in a defrosted package of frozen peas and carrots, but mostly did the recipe as written.

Broccoli Beef I

I like this recipe okay, but even though I used slightly more garlic and ginger than directed and added salt and pepper to the meat, it came out bland. Sadly, my family aren't as gung-ho about Chinese food as I am and no one other than me liked it enough for me to try and perfect it. I won't be making this again.
