This is the first recipe I've ever used to bake chicken, and it was fabulous! I followed it exactly, and it was delicious.

Easy Herb Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
I just used this recipe for my first turkey ever and it was delicious. Everyone raved and said it was the best turkey they've ever had. I brined our 18 lb turkey for 30 hours using the "Out of this World Turkey Brine" recipe on this site, and then followed this recipe. I put the bird in breast-side down until the last 45 minutes of cooking, too. It was delicious. Moist, flavorful, perfect. I will definitely use this recipe again next Thanksgiving.

Bread and Celery Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
This is the fifth Thanksgiving for which I've made this stuffing. I made it exactly as directed the first three years, and it was amazing every time. The only problem with it is that there are never any leftovers because everyone devours it! Last year I added dried cranberries, and that was delicious. I just added dried cranberries and two Granny Smith apples (for a 20-serving batch,) and it's another hit! (I personally prefer it without the apples but with the cranberries, but my husband loves it with both. Either way, it's delicious. Thanks for this great recipe, it's definitely become a family favorite. I agree with all the other reviewers who said to only add the broth a bit at a time. I don't even measure it, I just add a bit and stir, add and stir, until the mixture is all coated but not soaked.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
Excellent recipe! I took the advice to add some sauce on top of the ziti, and it came out perfect! I've made this recipe three times now and it's always a huge hit. Recipe update: I'm STILL making this ziti and it's delicious! Make sure you mix the sauce and the ziti so it doesn't get dry, and you'll be delighted with the result. I bought sliced mozzarella this time and tried that on top, it was really good and looked nicer than the shredded mozzarella.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
Delicious! I made two batches, one with the added vanilla (per other reviewers' suggestions) and one without, and nobody could tell the difference. Will definitely make these again.

Garlic Bread Fantastique

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
This is so good, and so easy to make. I've made it at least ten times now and it always turns out delicious. Just be sure you don't put too much on your bread, unless you like it really buttery.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
This was so good! My husband loves sloppy Joes, and he said it was the best he's ever had. I made extra sauce because I read the reviews first, and I'm glad I did because it was the perfect amount.

Apple Cole Slaw

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
This is very good and easy to put together. The only change it really needs is added cider vinegar. Without it there's really not much flavor. Delicious.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
These are great! My cookies turned out perfect, and they definitely look and taste like I bought them at the corner bakery. You do have to take them out at just the right time to avoid hard cookies, so watch them carefully.

Crispy Cucumbers and Tomatoes in Dill Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
This is so good! I didn't give it five stars because I think the onion is a bit overpowering, so I cut back on that. Otherwise, it's delicious. I always get a lot of compliments on this one.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
This is delicious. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that it is a bit dry if you don't add the milk, as suggested by other reviewers. I made a double batch for a party and it disappeared before I even got back to my kitchen. A definite keeper. UPDATE 3/29/14: I'm still making this and everyone who tries it loves it and wants the recipe. I've used both low fat and full fat cheese and cottage cheese, and it's great either way. I've also added spinach and baked it in muffin tins for play date food for toddlers and this was a real winner--pre-portioned, greens but still yummy. Very good. You can prepare this ahead of time, keep it in the fridge, and pop it in the oven when you need it, just add some cooking time if you take it straight from fridge to oven.

Slow Cooker Vegetable Chili

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
This is excellent veggie chili. The prep does take quite a bit of time because of all the chopping, but it's worth the effort. I made a double batch for a party and everyone gave it rave reviews. I added extra chili powder because we like it with a little extra bite. Even so, it wasn't spicy at all.

Party Punch IX

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
So delicious! I made this for a house party with over 50 people and it disappeared shortly after I put it out! The kids had a blast helping me break up the frozen juice, and it had a great slushy consistency. I'm definitely going to use this as my go-to punch recipe from now on.

Holiday Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
I've made this a couple times now, and it can be really good, but only with a few adjustments. Seasoned chicken is definitely necessary, or it will taste very bland. You should also add some spices or herbs according to your taste to give it some more flavor. Once you do this, it's a great salad, but as is, the recipe is not very tasty.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2009
This is fabulous. I only used 3 tbsp olive oil, and added 1 tbsp brown sugar. I let it simmer for three hours, threw in some turkey meatballs with 30 minutes to go, and it was perfect. My husband's new favorite!

Cheesy Potato Kugel

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
This is a really delicious dish, and it's pretty easy to make. I use my food processor for the potatoes, onions, and cheese, so that cuts down the prep time significantly. I cut the oil in half because it's a bit greasy as is, and I cut the onion in half because my husband doesn't like a lot of onions. It still has the onion flavor, but just not as strong. This definitely makes too much to fit into a 9 x 5 loaf pan, so I use a loaf pan and a round casserole when I make the full recipe.

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: May 20, 2010
This is the best tuna salad we've ever had! We've been buying tuna salad from delis for years, and this is truly better than anything we've ever bought fresh from the deli. I only had fresh parsley on hand, so I didn't use any parsley. I halved the curry and put in an extra pinch of garlic powder according to our tastes. I also skipped the Parmesan cheese because my husband doesn't like it. The mayo was just the right amount for us, I thought. It was moist yet not wet. I did a really good job draining the tuna first, though. That may account for the problems. So good! A really excellent recipe. I never would have thought to add the curry.

Southern Dill Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2010
This was only okay. I'm actually surprised that it has a five star rating, to be honest. I followed the recipe exactly, and my family thought the apple cider vinegar was really overpowering. The dill was really strong, as well. I would not make this again. Sorry to be harsh.

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2011
I love this recipe! I've been using it for several years and just realized I never reviewed it. I make it almost exactly as the recipe states, except I double the garlic. It's the perfect consistency for dipping, and every time I serve it everyone asks me where I got it. Delicious! Thank you so much!
