Better Than Sex Cake II

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2013
This was really, really yummy. I made it for a crowd, and the guests could not stop raving about it. I gave it 4 stars because I was disappointed with the amount of wasted caramel that dripped over the sides of the cake while I was pouring it. The result was a lot of caramel on the wax paper, and a very thin layer of caramel on the actual cake. I'm wondering if I could somehow scrape up the caramel drippings from the wax paper and use a spatula to spread it onto the top of the cake? If I could salvage the wasted caramel, it would probably add a more pronounced caramel flavor/texture to the cake. I would make this again!

Peppy's Pita Bread

Absolutely amazing and impressive!! Super easy to make, though a bit time consuming since I only baked two at a time, however, worth every minute! Outstanding!! Will definitely make again!

Chocolate Eclair Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
This was yummy and very easy! It's a great recipe to make when you're tight on time, and want to feed a large crowd. I've made it twice, and it's been a hit both times. I gave the recipe 4 stars, because it doesn't look particularly fancy when it's just sitting in the pan untouched. It looks very much like a kid or very amateur cook prepared it. So it may not be pretty, but it tastes great.

Yummy Lemon Salmon Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
I'm disappointed with this recipe. While the combination of ingredients is tasty, my burgers did not stay together at all. I followed the recipe exactly, and my burgers fell apart completely during cooking.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
This is the best coleslaw recipe I've ever tried. It definitely tastes just like restaurant coleslaw. It creams together really nicely when refrigerated over night. Will definitely make again. Thanks!

Joy's Prizewinning Trifle

Reviewed: May 14, 2011
This was absolutely delicious! However, I made several changes. I only used blueberries and strawberries for the fruit, since that's all I had on hand. I also substituted the cool whip for real whipped cream ( I just whipped up 12oz of whipping cream and added a 1/4 cup of sugar to it). I also added the zest of two lemons to the cream, and it was amazing! Thanks for a yummy and impressive recipe!

Tender Potato Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2010
These were excellent! What a great way to use up leftover mashed potatoes. I had made way more mashed potatoes than I really needed, so I made a Shepherd's pie, and these biscuits on the side. These biscuits were very easy to make, and taste great! I followed the recipe exactly, and they were fantastic!

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Secret Recipe

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
These were very, very delicious mashed potatoes. They had a great texture, and were perfectly seasoned. I gave this recipe 4 starts because I wasn't particularly fond of the oregano. Besides the oregano the flavor of the potatoes was awesome...so it's easy for me to just omit the oregano the next time.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
There is only one word for me to describe this stuffing: EXCELLENT! I used Pepperide Farm herb stuffing as the base instead of cubing my own bread and it was phenomenal. The stuffing looked so beautiful in the serving dish because of all the warm, rich colors. Even better than the way it looked, was the way it tasted! It was awesome! I will definitely be making this stuffing again next year. Thank you for a great recipe!

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
This was excellent!! I didn't read the reviews, and I used the full amount of butter, but I could definitely see myself cutting the butter in half next time. Overall, the flavors worked well together and the result was extremely tasty! I also loved that it took no time to prepare. Definitely a keeper!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
This was really delicious! I also used only 1/4 cup of water, and that was PLENTY! I think it would be much too wet at the bottom if 1/2 cup of water is added. It was a quick, easy recipe that really impressed my guests. Thank you!

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
This has to be one of the most sinfully delicious desserts I have ever had! It was SOOOO good, and my guests were just raving about it all night long. The only minor changes I made, I added caramel topping on top of the brownie layers. I used cool whip for the pudding mixture, but then I also whipped a pint of fresh whipping cream and didn't add any sugar to it. That was used instead of cool whip on top of the pudding mixture. I also sprinkled the top with heath bar bits. This was DELICIOUS!!! Thank you for an outstanding recipe!

Spanakopita (Greek Spinach Pie)

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
This was fantastical!! I made a few very minor changes. I added about 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and a bit of salt to the filling mixture. I also sauteed the onions in butter instead of oil, and I brushed melted butter between the layers of filo instead of oil. I also used one full pack of filo pastry, which I think is about 16 sheets total. With those changes, the end result was magnificent. The pastry was nice and crispy, and the filling was nicely compacted inside and not wet or runny at all. It was positively delicious! My guests were raving!!! Thank you!

Cream of Mushroom Soup I

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2010
This soup was OUTSTANDING! It was perfectly seasoned, when I followed the recipe exactly as written. We omitted the sherry because we are a no-alcohol household and it turned out superb! I made this 3 days ago, and will make it again tomorrow because it was THAT good. Thanks so much!

Melt In Your Mouth Blueberry Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2010
This was just OK for us. It was a good cake, but I've eaten cakes prepared with better recipes. I thought that whipping up the egg whites would contribute to moisture, but it didn't. Overall, this cake was just OK.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2010
If I could give this recipe 10 stars I would!! This is by far the best recipe I have ever tried from this site. It was very easy with my cuisinart to quickly chop the fruits. I was able to achieve a really good 'salsa' consistency by using my machine rather than cutting by hand. The chips were also AWESOME!! They were very easy to make, and I took the suggestion of using a pizza cutter and that cut the prep time quite a bit. I also used pre-bought cinnamon sugar. Super easy, super good and super impressive! Thanks so much!!!
