Perfect Flourless Orange Cake

I'm not sure what I could have done wrong but the texture sure wasn't like the photo. It was not dense at all, in fact, it was quite airy. Maybe I beat the egg and sugar too long. I had to look up other recipes to figure out of the peel went in the processor as well. I would have liked to see that little tidbit in the recipe. The cake stuck to everything regardless of the parchment and the nonstick spray. I used naval oranges and I think the flavor is good. Another plus of the naval orange is there were no seeds. If you can afford the saffron, it's really great spice. If I try this recipe again, I think I will look for different one, not a fan of this one.

Broccoli Rice Casserole

Good dish, easy to prepare. I added some cooked chicken to the mix. It lacked flavor but I kind of like bland dishes. It was a nice change.

Michigan Beans N Sausage

Not bad. Great comfort food of course. The beans ended up looking more like refried beans than soup. Some of the beans remained intact but I would have preferred it with more liquid. The really great thing about this recipe is that onions almost disappeared which is AWESOME in my book because I hate them anyway. The gizzards came out really tender as well. I added a small green pepper as well. It just did not have a lot of flavor. Probably won't make it again, but I enjoyed making it. Thank-you

Spicy Pear Cookies

Fabulous! I had some extra cans of pears I didn't know what to do with. So I searched ingredients and found this one. I had all the stuff on hand except lemon juice. I substituted real pears with canned, lemon juice with 1/2 tsp. lemon extract and 1/2 tsp. vinegar. These are great cookies! I love them! I think it's the lemon flavor with the pears that make it great. I also like the fact it's brown sugar instead of white. Thanks!
