Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2014
My husband's favorite pie is Pecan Pie. He said this is hands down his favorite recipe for it! He went for seconds right away!I also made 3 for our neighbors, one note add the extra 1/4 cup of pecans I didn't with the first pie and it made a crusty dome on top of the pie, while it was delicious it was not appealing in appearance the other two pies I added the extra pecans and received at better looking pie with all the deliciousness! This is a family favorite going in our recipe box faves recipe, thank you so much for sharing!

Oven Scrambled Eggs

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2012
Great Brunch Buffet style eggs, just like the fancy ones restaurants make, my family went for seconds. I halved the recipe for the 5 of us...someone rated this recipe and used water instead of milk well tests by Cook’s Illustrated (the “America’s Test Kitchen” people) revealed that scrambled eggs made with water are less flavorful, do not fluff as well, and are not as soft as those made with milk. Keep the recipe as is you can't go wrong!

Amish Hash Browns

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2012
These were delish, leave out the 1/3 cup of oil to the mixture, you are already cooking it in oil, no need for all that extra fat. Make sure it's a small onion you are using, I pureed a bit of the mixture just so it would bind better. This recipe is going to added to our Sunday brunch recipes!!!

A Number One Egg Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
not even 2 minutes out of the oven and it's half eaten! Tip, cover bread with foil the last 15 minutes of baking, to prevent over browning, excellent recipe!

Captain's Crunch French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
Used whole milk, forgot to put the sugar in the batter, it was still very sweet, so I'm glad I didn't. I also watched the Blue Moon Cafe video on making the toast, didn't see nutmeg so I left it out and used Texas toast instead of egg bread, I think egg bread would be excellent though, you don't want to use thin sliced bread as I can see it ripping when putting the cereal on, you need a hearty bread. Thank you for the wonderful recipe!

Greek Island Chicken Shish Kebabs

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2011
I just wrote thyme in my original post, not dried, I always use fresh.... If you are using dried make sure it is good quality thyme or you will end up with it leaving a bitter taste in your mouth! If you don't like thyme just leave it out or try marjoram or savory instead....the cumin in it gives it that something extra.... I originally got this recipe from a friend who lives in the Greek Islands...For some reason the recipe only says 1/4 cup olive oil, I use 1/2 a cup or even amounts of oil to lemon and vinegar (my friend just uses lemon juice in the original recipe no vinegar, she uses 2 cups of olive oil to 1 cup of fresh lemon juice)
