Amish Hash Browns

These were delish, leave out the 1/3 cup of oil to the mixture, you are already cooking it in oil, no need for all that extra fat. Make sure it's a small onion you are using, I pureed a bit of the mixture just so it would bind better. This recipe is going to added to our Sunday brunch recipes!!!

not even 2 minutes out of the oven and it's half eaten! Tip, cover bread with foil the last 15 minutes of baking, to prevent over browning, excellent recipe!

Captain's Crunch French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
Used whole milk, forgot to put the sugar in the batter, it was still very sweet, so I'm glad I didn't. I also watched the Blue Moon Cafe video on making the toast, didn't see nutmeg so I left it out and used Texas toast instead of egg bread, I think egg bread would be excellent though, you don't want to use thin sliced bread as I can see it ripping when putting the cereal on, you need a hearty bread. Thank you for the wonderful recipe!

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2011
I made two batches of this Tuna Salad, one as written, for my kids and one lighter version, for myself. The recipe as written is very good and my kids loved it! As for myself, I liked it a little better with only 1 TBSP light mayo and 1 1/2 TBSP light Miracle whip and no Parmesan cheese. I've been searching a long time for great Tuna Salad recipe and this is it, thanks for sharing,TANAQUIL!!!

Mexican Wedding Cakes I

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2010
These cookies are fantastic, not bland at all! I'm baking them right now (my husband has already eaten 5 and said they are addictive) I have Martha Stewart's cookie cook book and she has almost the same version of Mexican Wedding cookies in it. To make them more like she does toast the almonds in the oven first at 350 degrees f until slightly golden, it brings out the flavor of the almonds, reduce the flour to 2 cups and 2 tablespoons flour up the confectioners sugar to 1 cup and swap one of the teaspoons of vanilla for almond extract, I just rolled the dough into 1 1/2 inch balls straight from the bowl. These are also a great cookie just the way the recipe is written, don't forget altitude and climate affect your baking while more flour works for some, less might work better for others. Thank you DeAnn for the delicious recipe!

Perfect Theater Popcorn taste!!! When ever someone mentions popcorn I think of this recipe, I have always loved to munch on popcorn and I especially love this recipe and so do my kids, as soon as they see me making it all 3 line up with their bowls ready. The peanut oil really gives it a great taste,I love the original recipe but I sometimes leave out the butter and double the popcorn and add 1/4 teaspoon more salt, yummy thank you D.A. mommy for the fabulous recipe!!!!

Easy Lemon Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
thank you so much for the terrific recipe! I thought I would have to freeze half of these cookies was I wrong, they only lasted 2 days in my house and most of them were eaten in the first day! I loved the lemon cookies so did the kids I added 1 tablespoon of poppy seeds, but my kids really loved the second time we made these a Butter Pecan Cake mix I used, then rolled the balls in a mixture of powdered sugar and cinnamon, my son loves cinnamon. To make it easier to work with the dough I placed it in the fridge for 15 minutes, the dough was then firm enough to roll.

Rainbow Pasta Salad I

Wow fabulous salad definitely a keeper!!! I had to use what I had on hand so I used cauliflower instead of broccoli florets and penne instead of tri-color rotini pasta I also added cherry tomatoes and half a fresh green pepper from the garden. I used Greek salad dressing, a little Greek market by my house makes their own. Next time I think I will also add some feta too, didn’t have any on hand. Thanks so much for the yummy recipe!

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
Whenever I'm invited to a potluck I'm asked to bring this salad, no matter what the season or occasion it's a huge hit and goes well with anything. Last night was my uncles 50th and I brought this salad I added sliced strawberries, it was all gone within 10 minutes of putting it out! If your making this for a crowd I would only double everything but the spinach because it makes a lot and you don't want to end up with a greasy salad.

Italian Bread Using a Bread Machine

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2009
My family and I loved this bread, my husband is Italian and he loves bread. We go to a little local Italian shop where they make fresh bread and it is amazing, this recipe came very close to it. I have been on a bread making kick for the past 2 years and have all kinds of bread making books one even from Le Cordon Bleu and this recipe ranks right up there. The crust was chewy and golden, this bread is little dense but delicious, a perfect bread in my humble opinion. The only alteration I made was to only add 1tsp of salt. I would not make the whole recipe in the bread machine because it is a bit of a dense bread and it will turn out too heavy. This recipe is now one of favorites, thanks for sharing Destiny! a little tip how do you know when the bread has risen enough? The dough will double in size. It will be soft and look a bit airy. When you touch it with your finger, it will feel soft and an indention in the dough will remain. If it feels a bit springy and the dough bounces back from the indentation, it hasn’t risen enough.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
This recipe was outstanding my hubby said it tasted like the skewers we order at a local Vietnamese restaurant. I made two batches of the marinade one for the chicken and one for the veggies in the veggie marinade I substituted the vegetable oil with sesame oil.Chicken was delicious juicy and tender everyone loved it, the kids even gobbled up the veggies, I used cherry tomatoes, onions, red and green peppers and mushrooms. I didn't think it was going to be as great as it was because of the simple ingredients but now it will be on our regular summer menu!
