About this Cook
I have lived in the Pacific Northwest my entire life and I really couldn't imagine myself living anywhere else with my wonderful family that consists of my my Mom, my fiance, and myself. When I am not chasing after kids in our in-home daycare, I fill my time with scrapbooking, family outings, cooking and baking (obviously!), working on mine and my fiance's 51 Chevy, watching movies, playing with our animals and gardening.
My favorite things to cook
I really enjoy cooking for peoeple who appreciate good food, good cooking and good conversations. I love cooking for people who love to eat! I mean people who truly love to eat good, home cooked food, not just people who love to eat any ole thing. Sure, McDonalds serves it's purpose but can it really replace a good home cooked meal? I don't think so. I really don't have a favorite type of dish or style of dish that I like making more than anything else.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I just received my grandmother's recipe box and am in the process of coping down all of our families recipes from 2 and 3 generations back into my own recipe book. I am so very excited.

Spanish Rice Bake
My family loved this! I followed the recipe exactly, for once in my life, and it turned out fabulous! It's going in the recipe book for sure :)

Juicy Roasted Chicken
This is a GREAT recipe! I will be using it again and again a my family just raved and raved about it. I added a couple extra spiceds to my chicken before cooking such as basil, rosemary, garlic powder and fresh mushrooms inside of the chicken along with the butter as well as lemon juice (about 1/4 cup at most) on top of the chicken. Wrapping it in the tin foil for 30 minutes makes it SO juicy! I did as another reviewer suggested and used the drippings for a gravy. Great idea!

Asian Beef with Snow Peas
I couldn't get over how quick and easy this was to make! The only problem that I had with the recipe was my own fault. I didn't realize we didn't have any soy sauce so I used teriyaki sauce instead but it turned out fantastic! I did make about double the sauce because I too doubted how far the sauce would go. I also added about 4 or 5 more ounces of snow peas because my family is crazy about them. I have already been requested to make this again :) Thanks!
