Sausage, Peppers, Onions, and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2012
Excellent! Used red potatoes cut into small chunks and they browned nicely. Used all chicken stock since I didn't have wine. Added two cloves garlic and some Sazon Complete. This will absolutely be my only sausage, peppers, onions and potato recipe from now on!

Basic Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
Great! Made in slow cooker, 2 hours on high and 5 hours on low. Out of celery so used celery salt. Used half water and half chicken stock. Added potato flakes as suggested to thicken liquid. Also used Lawry's Seasoned Pepper instead of white pepper. Will definitely make again!

Oven Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
Excellent! Did not have vermouth, used beef broth-actually a boullion cube dissolved in 1-1/2 cup water. Seasoned with pepper and garlic powder. Also added carrots, onion wedges and mushrooms after two hours. Then added flour when done to thicken gravy. Very flavorful. Served with mashed potatoes and spinach.

Turkey Bow Tie Skillet

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
Very good. Didn't have bowties, used penne instead. Didn't have tomatoes and used tomato paste with a can of water. Mixed all seasonings into the sauce and used a little extra sugar to compensate for the bitterness of the paste Had to add extra liquid to cook pasta. End result was very flavorful when seasoned to taste.

Kielbasa and Veggies

Good and easy. Made this on one of my "I don't feel like cooking" nights. Used 6 frozen hashbrown patties, a half bag of mixed veggies and half a bag of broccoli florets and a little less butter.

Oven Fried Chicken III

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
Very good! Even good cold the next day. Didn't have breadcrumbs, used a small packet of croutons (leftover from a salad) and crushed saltines. After reading other reviews, I used 1/3 cup milk, 1/3 cup ranch dressing. and 1/3 cup mayo. Baked at 375 degrees on a roaster rack (sprayed with Pam)on top of a cookie sheet.

The Best Chicken Soup Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
Excellent! Used what I had on hand (daughter and grandson both have colds with fevers). I used 4 chicken leg quarters, added some mixed veggies--didn't have any pasta so I threw in the macaroni from a boxed mac & cheese. Also used chicken soup base since I didn't have the chicken soup mix.

Dad's Hamburger Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
Great flavor! Didn't make as written. Was making frozen hamburer patties and wanted more than just a burger and fries so I cooked the burgers then followed the rest of the recipe to make gravy. Served with cheesy bacon potatoes from this site. Next time I will follow the recipe, I'm sure we'll love it!

Bacon Cheese Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
Very good. Accidentally left out onion (I usually put onion in EVERYTHING!), left out olives on purpose. Instead of mayo use 1/2 cup margarine and 1/2 cup sour cream. Also added some shredded cheddar on top in addition to the american cheese I mixed in.

London Broil I

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
Nice and tender. I was looking for a recipe at the last minute so I could only marinate 4 hours. I forgot oregano-didn't have soy so I added a little worcestershire sauce and steak sauce and a splash of balsamic vinegar. Sauteed onions and mushrooms, pan-seared and put oven-proof skillet (with lid) in oven at 350 for 25 min.

Ed Zieba's Famous Family Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
Very tender and easy. I scrubbed and thickly sliced about 3 idaho potatoes and put them in with the chops and they came out just right. Used seasoned salt, garlic powder and adobo and 1/2 cup of water instead of 1/4 cup since I added potatoes.
