About this Cook
I'm now a stay at home mom. Together my husband and I have 5 boys and one girl. I love all aspects of cooking, and sometimes that can be a challenging process so far out in the country.
My favorite things to cook
I love fast and easy that tastes really good! Any cuisine, any style, I am usually up for it. My hubby can be a rather picky eater, but he is coming around...slowly but surely.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am from the south so fried taters, red beans w/ bacon and cornbread are definate staples.
My cooking triumphs
I have been the sole cook for Thanksgiving for 8 years now and I love every minute of it.
My cooking tragedies
Sometimes too much wine before you get everything cooked can make any meal a tragedy!!!! =-)

Kolaches II
Updathe*******I make these kolaches at least twice a month and usually 4-6 dozen at a time. I used the larger cheddar ekrich smok-y breakfast links (they are fully cooked and come in a 12 pack) and the dough makes 2 dozen, which since I eyeball it, some are bigger than others. Once my breadmachine is done, I divide into 24 pieces, roll them out into rectangle shapes and roll the link into the dough and just seal the seam, usually the link sticks out some at each end, then I proof them in my oven on warm for 30 minutes. Take them out long enough for my oven to heat to 325-350 and bake for 7-10 minutes until brown, brush with butter and serve, or COMPLETELY cool and store in fridge. HUMIDITY is huge in how much flour I add when rolling out. I also find leaving the butter soft and adding it in the exact order listed in the recipe works best for me.

Cola Pork Chops
Hubby said it is definitely a keeper. Served over plain arborio rice with green beans. Even my 3 year old ate half a pork chop. I used inch thick pork chops, followed the main recommendations of half ketchup half bbq, and seasoned flour browned chops before covering with sauce. Tweaked spices to our liking of course. No leftovers needless to say! Thanks for sharing.

Sweet Cornbread Cake
This recipe makes a huge batch, but my hobby loves sweet cornbread and this comes out perfect each time, even when I make a half batch. Thanks for sharing.
