Cauliflower Fried 'Rice'

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2014
I made this recipe, but i took some suggestions of others (added the peas at the end, and I cooked the eggs separately and added them in). I also made some changes of my own: I marinated the cubed pork in some toasted sesame oil, fresh chopped ginger, and a chopped garlic clove for about 30 minutes or so (while I prepped everything else) and I left the ginger in the finished meal and it was delicious!! I also added some corn and bean sprouts at the end. And for the record, I really dislike the taste of cauliflower and I had a second serving!!

Pumpkin Bread Puddin'

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2014
I took some of your tips, and I did double the recipe and make in a casserole dish (baked for 50 minutes and it was perfect) and I omitted the choc chips, and put raisins in. The real clincher for this dessert? I put a salted caramel sauce that I make over it, and a dollop of freshly whipped cream. The guests at my dinner party LOVED it and went for seconds.

Fresh Pea Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2014
This was great, I did use a shallot but I also used a clove of garlic and two stalks of celery. I also used vegetable broth instead of water, and I, sadly, had to use frozen peas. The soup itself was great, but I made some parmesan crisps that I put atop the soup when I served it and it was a HUGE hit!!

I have added either frozen blueberries or fresh strawberries (cut) and it always is a crowd pleaser! This was the first think I ever baked with my mom as a kid, didn't make it for eons, and this recipe is jsut as I remember it! Thank you!

Strawberry Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
This ALWAYS gets rave reviews and it is so simple to make! zI first made it in the UK, so I add steel cut scottish oats for the topping to add some extra crunch and a touch of fiber!! Also, sometimes I use whole wheat/oat flour which gives a more whole grain flavor. Either way, it is a home run of a recipe!!

Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
AWESOME flavor! It was my first time making candy and it came out great BUT what I didn't really think about was that living here in New Orleans where it is always humid *despite it being December) the candy wouldn't 'set' so I put it in the freezer for a bit and it hardened right up!! Everyone loves it! Thanks for the recipe!!

Roast Beef with Coffee

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
Maybe I did something wrong, but the meat was rare/medium rare as planned, but it was seriously lacking flavor. Not good at all.

Spicy Tomato Bisque with Grilled Brie Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
Great!! The only change I made was that I toasted the Brie on homemade whole grain bread (on a super strict diet at the time) but it was fantastic soup that even my husband ate...he doesn't believe that soup is a meal, but now he is a believer.

Citrus Scallops I

I also added only two oranges and it was the perfect amount. This is a great recipe, but next time I am going to try it with blood oranges and some ruby red grapefruit!!

Sky-High Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
I doubled the recipe for a party last night, and it was my first time making it, but it was a HUGE hit. I did add a little less sugar to the mashed berries, but I added a touch (1.5 tablespoons) of confectioner's sugar to the freshly whipped cream. I will definitely make this again...my husband hates pie and ate two servings!
