About this Cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas, my mom makes a gazillion tamales, and the past few years, I've helped her.
My cooking triumphs
Baking a German chocolate cake from scratch for my dad's birthday a couple years ago and also impressing them with my lasagna every time I made it.
My cooking tragedies
When I was in sixth grade, some friends and I accidentally put a cup of salt in the brownies we were baking instead of a cup of sugar. We still laugh about it all these years later. LOL.

Holiday Dressing
My sister found this recipe here and used it to make the dressing for our family's Christmas dinner. I thought it was a little bizarre while helping her make it because I had never heard of using bell peppers or sausage to make dressing. I was incredibly surprised to find that this was the best dressing I have ever tasted in my life! It was a lot moister than my mother's traditional dressing, and my sister said that was why she chose this recipe. I'm so glad she did... and I will definitely be making this another time! GREAT recipe!!!

Slow Cooker Lasagna
I have used this recipe a lot over the past couple years, and it's really good. Instead of cottage cheese, I use ricotta, and sometimes I substitute ground turkey for ground beef. I also use jarred sauce instead of tomato paste and sauce. This is a really great recipe to throw together before I go to work, and especially during the summer when I don't feel like slaving over a hot stove!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
I have made this recipe so many times over the past three or four years, with several variations. It always turns out yummy! I like to use one can of cream of chicken soup and one can of cream of celery, and I add one or two cups of frozen vegetables whenever I add the biscuit dough. I love this recipe!
