About this Cook
We are homesteading on 50 acres and my *job* is raising all of our own meat and vegetables. I raise grass fed beef and lamb. We also raise free range chicken and confined pigs. I have always loved cooking and im blessed with a hubby who will try just about anything i cook so i make up a monthly menu with 2/3 tried and true favorites and 1/3 new recipes..most of which these days come from because i love this site! Our goal is to eventually raise everything that we eat. I cook every meal from scratch and try hard not to use anything thats processed.
My favorite things to cook
Everything! I just love to cook! My favorite recipe would probably have to be the lambchops with balsamic reduction. Since we butcher our own meat instead of cutting the lambchop section of the lamb into lambchops my hubby debones it and cuts that strip of prime meat into lambsteaks. With the balsamic reduction they are to die for!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins
These were soo good! I added the third cup of milk before reading the recipe and then added more milk because the batter looked way too thick. The way she does it w the measuring cup probably works very well but the 1/3 cup isn't enough milk. I also used raw sugar and replaced the veg oil w coconut oil to make them healthier. This w be our go to muffin recipe! Loved the crunch topping!

Bread Machine Honey-Oat-Wheat Bread
This is the best wheat bread recipe I've ever made! Love it! I did swap olive oil for the vegetable oil since we don't use vegetable oil. And I divided it into two pans because of some of the reviews. It was so soft and just the right sweetness! Definitely a keeper! Going to try it w honey instead of the sugar and a bit more wheat flour in place of some of the white to see if I can make a sturdier sandwich bread but as a dinner type bread the way it is is perfect!

Mississippi Mud Cake II
This is similar to the recipe I used to have but not quite. I found it was way under done at 35 minutes.. Not quite done at 45. There's also too much milk in the buttercream icing. It was way too thin to form a thin crust when mixed w the marshmallow cream.
