About this Cook
I live in the city, but commute out to the suburbs (about an hour and a half) for work, so don't have much time to cook, but I enjoy good food and try to eat semi-healthy! I am also in grad school two nights a week, planning a wedding, and just moved into a new house.
My favorite things to cook
Pasta, one pot recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Everyone loves when my mom makes 4-H Funny Cake. We have a lot of good cooks in the family, but they're usually trying new things, so not a lot of repeat favorites!
My cooking triumphs
Anything that turns out well! I am just beginning to cook, so there are a lot of recipes I would adjust after making them for the first time. Also anything that is healthy but my fiancee still likes!
My cooking tragedies
I have a lot of these. I made the slow cooker chicken mole recipe from here last week, and I used chicken scallopine and cooked it on low for about 12 hours while I was at work. It turned out so dry!!! The recipe was a good one, but my beginner mistakes ruined it.

Tasty 2-Step Chicken Bake
Love this recipe, but it took me almost twice as long. The chicken was raw after 25 minutes; it took about 50 for me. Great garnished with parsley. I've seen other recipes that add a little chive and onion cream cheese if you want a richer sauce. (I although I think it tastes plenty rich without too.)

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie
A lot of oats. I tried adding more vanilla and still only taste the oats. Would probably reduce those and add more vanilla next time!

Heavenly Blueberry Smoothie
I didn't have honey and without it all I could taste was the yogurt. I would probably reduce the amount of yogurt.
