PHILLY Shrimp Cocktail Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2013
This really is "the procastinator's dream recipe." I did the following slight modifications: 1.) used whipped cream cheese (easier to spread and won't get hard if refridgerated), 2.) used a whole lb of medium cooked shrimp (what am i going to do with the remaining 1/4 lb anyway?!), 3.) used all 12 oz of ZESTY cocktail sauce, 4.) used only the greens of the green onions, and 5.) sprinkled parm cheese on top w/o measuring. This went fast at my work potluck so I'd recommend doubling it if serving more than 10.

Garlic Cheese Chicken Rollups

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
these looked and tasted awesome! couldn't find any garlic cream cheese so i just used the onion and chives cream cheese and mixed 1/2 tsp of garlic powder into it. also 1 cup of bread crumbs is too much. i hate wasting food. 1/2 a cup would have been plenty to coat 4 chicken breasts.

Campbell's Kitchen Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
i didnt measure out the egg noodles, just used a whole 12 oz package. and instead of topping the sauce over the noodles, i mixed it into the noodles which was not a good idea as there was not enough sauce to coat the noodles! next time i will double the sauce mixture. also used ground beef since its more economical and thinned out the sauce with a little beef broth.

Fast and Easy Tofu Lo-Mein

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
this cost me under $5 to make! only change i made was using 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and topping off with sriracha sauce. next time i will use 3 pkgs of ramen noodles as there was lots of tofu and veggies but not enough noodles. tasted better after some minor tweaks.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

did not like at all. tasted very vinegary (used franks hot sauce) and the soupy consistency caused the buns to get soggy :(

Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
i double bagged and brined my 18 lb turkey in the reynolds wrap oven bag and it leaked!!. luckily i had chosen to empty out the bottom drawer of my fridge (the drawers for veggies/fruits) and stuck the bag in there, otherwise there would have been liquids all over the inside of my fridge instead of contained inside the bottom drawer.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
I have attempted this several times with different veggies, but it was always good, but not spectacular. i decided to make it this time exactly as stated by the author except i used a 3.5 roast (as that's the biggest i could find at my local grocery store) and crocked it for 6 hrs. after it was done, i removed the roast, turned the temp to high, and made gravy w/ a little cornstarch and cold water. i paired this with 'Baked Vegetables I' found on this site and it was finally spectacular! i think the trick is to cook the meat and veggies separately as the veggies change the taste of the gravy.

Baked Vegetables I

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
these were probably the best side of veggies i've ever had! i used what i had on hand, which was 3 white potatoes, 3 carrots, and 1 large sweet onion cut into wedges. i followed the advise of another reviewer and cut the potatoes first then stuck it in a baking bag w/ 3T of the oil/onion soup mix for 15 min. cut up the rest of the veggies, threw those in the bag with the rest of the mix and baked for another 30 min. these paired very well with the Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast also found on this site.

Vietnamese Golden Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
i liked this a lot. there's lots of complaints about this being too salty, but eh, i like salty foods. i did omit the salt, added red pepper flakes, and broiled this for the last few minutes to crisp it up

not for the faint of heart. lots of heat just like i like it! we like eating our dip w/ the scoops style corn chips and prefer ranch over blue cheese dressing.

i made this for a camping trip. i prepared it at home the night before, stuck it in the freezer in a ziplock back with all its marinade and by day 2 of my camping trip, was defrosted and ready for grilling. it also smelled awesome while grilling!

this was ok. it's missing a kick, zing, zip, SOMETHING. i added dry mustard, relish, and regular mustard but that didnt do the trick for me.

i like this recipe because its quick and easy. i doubled the brown sugar/honey mixture and added red pepper flakes to the chops as it was missing a little kick.
