I've been cooking since I was 8 y/o. Now, I'm 53. The first thing I remember making was a chocolate pound cake at age 8 and instead of putting in a half teaspoon salt, I put in a table spoon. It turned out beautifully but tasted awful. Meats, pies and sometime cakes. I like the good old Southern food on which I was reared: Collards, cornbread, mustard greens, sweet potatoes, butter beans... Christmas and Easter. I don't really have any but if I could make bisquits like my grandmother made then that would be a triumph. puff pastry
