Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2012
Delish! Actually, the flour/butter/milk/cheese combo is what I use for mac and cheese. Always wonderful! Thanks for the idea of using it with potatoes!!

Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
Soooo good! I make this often... easy, delicious and uses ingredients that you would have on hand. When I prepare the chicken, I cut it into cubes and brown it in a skillet with garlic pepper, then add the celery, onion and green pepper to that. Get ready to grab seconds!

Apple and Brown Sugar Corned Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2011
I feel so bad leaving this review but.... the apple juice/brown sugar just overpowered the cabbage and corned beef. If it had sweetened it a bit, that would have been acceptable, but was just way too much for me. Maybe I was hoping too much for a more traditional corned beef/cabbage dish. Sorry.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2010
WOW! Finally, a chocolate chip cookie that doesn't look like a frisbee! I did follow some suggestions and used 1 cup of white and 1/2 cup of brown sugars and 1/2 cup margarine (one stick) and 1/2 cup shortening. P-E-R-F-E-C-T!!!

Potato Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2010
I love this recipe! What a great switch from the old boring way of making salmon patties! Here's where I am confused... it seems so many allrecipes fans don't actually "rate" the recipe as submitted but instead, totally rewrite the whole recipe to suit themselves and then give themseles four or five stars. Is this how it's done? I thought we were to rate a recipe based on the ingredients listed and not a "new" recipe that's been tweaked to death until it's nothing like the original recipe!

Clark Gable Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
Super easy to make and delicious! No more box mixes for me. Substituted melted Crisco for the vegetable oil and it worked fine (out of oil). These are fluffy thick pancakes and are absolutely delicious. I have this recipe memorized!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
WOW! Soup will never be the same at our house! Wonderful recipe! I didn't change anything.... only added a few chopped carrots for color. I tasted it when it was finished, then tasted it again, and then one more time to make sure it was really as delicious as I thought! And it was!! A keeper recipe!

Lucy's Mac and Corn

WOW WOW WOW I love this! Little changes here: I precooked the macaroni and cut the butter to half a stick. Otherwise, followed the recipe to a "t". A new favorite at our house! THANK YOU!!

Pumpkin Cookies I

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
Yum! Fat little cookies that are just wonderful! They came out perfect in 13 minutes. Followed the recipe exactly except for the cloves because I didn't have any. Anyway, loved them (and so did the neighbors)!! A word to the wise here.. don't store them in an airtight container!

Stewed Cabbage

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
WOW! Absolutely delicious! No leftovers on this dish. Instead of butter, I fried a couple of pieces of bacon and used the grease to saute the onions and celery, then crumbled the bacon into the cabbage later. I also added about a teaspoon of sugar to offset the acidity of the tomatoes. So good and so easy! Next time, I am going to add some sausage and use it as a main dish with some boiled potatoes. Thanks for a keeper receipe!!

Bean Soup With Kale

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
WOW! Great recipe! Found myself with a sack of Kale and had no idea what to do with it and found this recipe. The ONLY things I did different was to use canned diced tomatoes with chilies (drained)and used canned Great Northern Beans. The tomatoes with chilies gave it some real kick. Super Recipe!!
