About this Cook
My mother has been a caterer for over 30 years and has taught me a lot of what she knows. I still have room to impove and I love this site just for that.
My favorite things to cook
I love cook any type of food that is good. I like all types and like trying new things. If I had to pick a favorite it would be basic down home cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We enjoy food that takes time and love tying recipes and adding or changing things to make them better.
My cooking triumphs
I have very good at mexican and down home cooking. I love fried food (which I know I shouldn't) and baking .
My cooking tragedies
I have not had many, but everyone has tried a bad recipe.

Crab Stuffed Lobster Rayna
This is a great way to jazz up your lobster tail. I read other reviews and decided to broil lobster breifly before adding stuffing to make sure the lobster did get thoroughly cooked. I then added sesoned stuffing to lobster and broiled until stuffing was cooked. Only takes 4-9 minutes. Very quick, very good, and very easy. Great recipe.

Emily's Manicotti
This was a great recipe, if you take the time to read the reviews. I made according to directions but added the ricotta and sauce like kitchenwarriorprincess suggests. Also add more sause and chesse like other reviews suggest. If you make changes recipe is a 5.

Honey Walnut Shrimp
This is a great recipe if you camelize the nuts by saute'the walnuts in brown sugar an butter(I like nuts so I use extra). You will need to use the whole can of sweet milk and and the honey and mayo to taste(appox 2-3 T. of both). I use cornstarch and egg for shrimp batter. Season the shrimp and the batter. I serve heated (add some milk to thin sauce if heating)over peppered white rice with green onion. This adds much needed color and extra taste. With these changes it is my household's favorite meal.
