Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2013
Made this exactly as written and the flavor was great. The chicken thighs were super tender and none of us thought this was too salty. I was a bit concerned after tasting the sauce by itself, but after baking, the chicken had a nice glaze and the sauce had mellowed quite a bit. If you're looking for a quick and simple, inexpensive dinner to feed a bunch of people, this is it.

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2013
The secret to this as well as any other beef stew is to get a great sear on the meat before adding anything else. I made this exactly as written and it came out perfect. The only thing I would suggest doing differently would be to flour the beef before searing it off, and deglaze the pot with about 1/3 cup red wine before adding the beef broth. Flouring the meat will help thicken the stew without needing as much cornstarch. The flavor is terrific. The stew freezes well too.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2013
I have now made this twice exactly as written. This makes a very hearty soup, loaded with vegetables. If you're looking for something with lots of broth, this isn't it. I usually add a little extra chicken broth and tomato sauce as needed just to give this soup a little more broth. The flavor is as good if not better than what you can get at the local Italian eateries. I would not change a thing in this.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2012
There aren't enough adjectives to describe how good this is! The root beer gives the meat an unbelievable sweetness and goes well with a robust tangy barbecue sauce. We make this one often.

The Best Meatballs

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2012
My daughter was looking for a recipe to use for her ninth grade cooking class final project. She decided on an Italian theme and we made these meatballs. Made exactly as written and the flavor and texture was excellent. We made very large meatballs, but next time will make smaller, maybe golf ball sized. Served over spaghetti with home made tomato sauce. Awesome!

The Best Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2012
I am a sucker for Chicken Fried Steak, and this is a great version. Made it exactly as written and it came out perfect. Flavor was spot on and the gravy just what I remember from traveling down South. A definite keeper

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2012
I've made this recipe at least a dozen times and there have never been anything but rave reviews. I usually make mine with a mix of hot and sweet Italian sausage, but otherwise the recipe is unchanged. When you're looking for something to feed a large group that will impress, this is a great go to recipe. It's worth the bit of effort to make.

Fabulous Wet Burritos

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2012
I made this for family and friends a couple of weeks ago and all I can say is FANTASTIC! These are as good, if not better, than any I've had in restaurants. I did not change a thing to the recipe ingredients at all. The only thing I did differently was place all of the rolled burritos onto baking pans, topped with the sauce and cheese and then baked for a few minutes to melt the cheese. Everyone loved them and one of our friends who is Mexican said they tasted just like what his mother made when he was growing up. Simple to make, great taste.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2012
I have made this recipe twice now and it has never failed to be a hit with everyone that has had it. I followed the suggestions of others and added cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. I mixed the syrup with the apples and a full crust instead of a lattice crust. Using all 8 apples called for yields a very tall pie. I will be making two tomorrow for our Easter dinner dessert and thinking that may not be enough as fast as these always go.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2011
Far and away one of the best chicken pot pie recipes around. Insanely simple to make and the flavor is amazing. I followed some of the suggestions and simmered the chicken and veggies in stock instead of water, and then used the fortified stock to make the sauce. I added a tsp of garlic powder as well and the result was perfect. Will definitely be making this again and again.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: May 3, 2011
This has to be one of the easiest and tastiest chicken dishes of all time. I made this exactly as written and all I can say is fantastic! The chicken was tender, sauce was creamy with just the right tangy flavor. The only change I made was to triple the recipe and it worked great. So great in fact that the group of six I made it for did not leave me any of the leftovers I was planning on. This will definitely go in my list of "make often" recipes.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

I was expecting an amazing cookie based on the number of reviews, and that's exactly what I got. We made a single batch without changing a thing. Quick, easy, and delicious. These will be made often just because of how yummy they are. Everyone raved about them.

Awesome Korean Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
I have had this made by a Korean woman in the past and this came as close in taste to hers as I've ever had. I made this exactly as written using an eye round roast sliced extremely thin. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful. I marinated it for about 18 hours and when I went to cook it, the meat had absorbed every last drop of marinade. I was worried about how salty it might be after reading some of the other reviews, but the flavor was perfect. I can't wait until it warms up outside and I can try this marinade with slightly larger pieces of meat on the grill. A definite keeper.

Chinese Barbequed Spareribs

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2008
I just finished licking the sauce off my fingers after polishing off a bunch of these. Fantastic! These were better than some of the takeout places around here! I can't think of anything to change in this recipe. I will be making this one often.
