About this Cook
I am officially a married woman as of 9/30/2012 and there is really no greater joy in life. My favorite part about being married (besides waking up every morning curled up with my best friend) is cooking for my husband, experimenting in the kitchen and seeing what works & what doesn't, what flavors we like best, and just trying anything.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking... for any holiday or get together, my family always requests that I make my famous sugar cookies and homemade frosting. I like hosting parties and cooking foods for people. Lately I've become obsessed with homemade cinnamon rolls, and my husband requests them at least twice a month.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Homemade cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning :)
My cooking triumphs
As previously described, the sugar cookies and frosting that I make for every occasion. I also made a nacho-cheese-taco-dip for a football party and people went crazy for it. And of course, how could I forget... I'm really good at making cereal and toast (probably the best but dont tell anyone)... I'm well on my way to making it in the real world.
My cooking tragedies
So I had this brilliant idea to make brownies for a football party, and use my football cookie cutter to cut out the brownies, and I was gonna use white frosting to put the seams of the football on them... well, I made the brownies just like I always had before, except I used a different pan than normal--and they just did NOT come out right... the middle was still gooey and the edges were burnt. I tried to cut out as many footballs as I could, but alas, they were a disaster. I think I successfully cut out two footballs. I ended up hiding the brownies from everyone by putting them on top of a kitchen cupboard. Note to self: try using the better pan next time.

Monkey Bread II
I used butter instead of margarine, and it tasted awesome! I will try with margarine too, just to see which flavor we prefer. So easy to make! I thought when the dough came out of the bread machine that surely this was not enough dough for a whole bundt pan--but sure enough, it filled that puppy right up! Great recipe, will definitely make again!

Best Bread Machine Bread
This bread tastes WAY BETTER than the recipe that came with my bread machine! It's very soft, and I only rate it a 4 because I wanted it a bit softer/flakier crust.

Broccoli Cheese Soup
This soup was delicious!! I added 1-1/2 pounds of processed cheese... we looooovveee a cheesy soup! The only other thing I would change next time is reducing the onion to 1/2. My husband hates onions, and adding a whole onion was a bit too much for him. Awell, just means more leftovers for me! Bring it on!
