Cinnamon-Apple Chex® Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2012
This is a great recipe! I had a hard time finding dried apples too and it turns out that my grocery store (Kroger) has them in the same isle with the fruit roll ups. I add dark chocolate covered raisins and use dried cherries (also in the fruit roll up isle).

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2011
This was delicious! The only alteration was I used 1 tablespoon of honey instead of 2. Did not use the optional anchovy paste.

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2011
We loved this! I used all the ingredients plus a can of black beans and half a bag of frozen yellow corn. We used a 9x13 baking dish. Per others' suggestions we put the refried beans on the tortillas first. The way we layered the tortillas was we put one on each end of the pan so that they over lapped in the middle and then cut one in half and put a half on each end so the tortilla layer was close to the same thickness the length of the pan.

Guacamole

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
I loved this! I mashed 2 of the avocados and diced the third one. The only deviations from the recipe were that I used Paula Deen's house seasoning instead of salt and I was out of tomatoes. Absolutely simple and delicious :)

Texas Sheet Cake V

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2010
This is a great cake! I have made it twice now, once with a half sheet pan (ingredients calculated for 52 servings) and today in my stoneware jelly roll pan. It was perfect both times but needed about an extra 8 minutes of bake time. The only change I made to the recipe was using coffee instead of water.

Slow Cooker Sweet and Tangy Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
This is one of the best crock pot recipes I've tried yet. I used the Sweet Baby Ray's sauce as others suggested but only needed about 1 and a half bottles. I used breast tenderloins because that's what I had on hand. Delicious!

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
These were delicious! I used a mixture of white and chocolate chips, and substituted pecans for the walnuts. I had to use an 8"x8" pan so I increased the baking time to about 40 minutes. Goes great with a cup of extra bold coffee.

Spinach Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2009
This was great! I hate squeezing water out of spinach, so I used 2 tablespoons of the butter to saute the onions (with a minced garlic clove or two) in an electric skillit and added the spinach about as fast as I could cut it up. I just kept stiring and when it was wilted, I was able to put it right in the batter.

Special Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
These are really good. I used paper towels to squeeze the excess liquid out of the horseradish and relish. I chopped the onion up very fine.

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
We loved these. I dredged the bacon and the smokies in brown sugar before rolling them up. I skewered them and placed the skewers across a foil lined baking sheet, then sprinkled with more brown sugar. You really should make about 2 times the amount that you think you need as someone else suggested.

Cheddar and Onion Soup Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2008
This went over pretty well at our house. I followed the advice of the other reviewers and cut the water in half. I used half the cheese at the start of baking and the other half about the last 20 minutes. Mine did not turn out like the picture-it had very nice cheese coating on the outside. I also used a stoneware baking pan.
