Stephanie's Freezer Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
I was overrun with tomatoes and had this recipe suggested to me on the morning buzz. What a great recipe! I cooked the sauce on top of the stove in my dutch oven versus the crockpot. Had plenty of fresh oregano & basill so added those. I simmered the sauce all afternoon, about four hours, on low. It smelled so good! I did freeze the sauce, but I could not wait and pulled the first batch out of the freezer within the week. I browned ground beef, added 2 quart bags of the sauce, and two small cans of tomato paste. Simmered all for about forty minutes or so. Delish! Thanks for a great recipe and an excellent way to use up plentiful garden tomatoes :)

Amazing 'Pizza' Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2012
It's "Amazing" that a recipe so simple is so fabulous! My entire family loves these chops. The fresh tomato slice on top with the herbs and cheese makes these chops so scrumptous. I live in a house with people who don't appreciate a fresh tomato. I have to sneak them in on them. Well there's never a complaint when they are sliced and placed on top of these chops. Also, a plus is the easy clean up with using the foil. Forever greatful CNM catering for such an easy and delicious meal!

Southern-Style Crowder Peas

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2012
Love crowder peas! I had to make a few changes because I didn't have everything on hand. No bacon or ham so I used smoked sausage. I browned that first with my onion and fresh garlic. Didn't have green pepper so I subbed in a 14oz can of chopped tomatoes with green chilies. I also added a 14oz can of chicken broth along with added water. Was also out of thyme. Will try that next time. So I added a Herb ox low sodium chicken bouillon packet and I did have the bay leaf, but I didn't crush that. Just kept that whole. The peas turned out wonderful! Definitely making again :)

Spaghetti with Bacon

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2012
Made this for dinner last night and it was good. Very kid friendly. I added extra salt and a little pepper and topped it with Parmesan cheese. Also, I used dried parsley because I didn't have fresh. Served with steamed broccoli & cauliflower & carrots. Very economical. Will make again.

Dave's Georgia Black Eyed Peas

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2013
I fixed this on New Year's Day and it was sooo good. Cooking the bacon and then the onions and then adding it to the beans made them so flavorful. The only change I made was I used chicken stock in place of the water and bouillon cubes. This is a keeper!

Kickin' Turkey Burger with Caramelized Onions and Spicy Sweet Mayo

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2013
Great burger with an awesome sauce! I could not believe I was out of Worchestershire sauce so I subbed in some Moore's Marinade I had in t he fridge. And I didn't have the dry mesquite seasoning so I added Adobo all purpose seasoning. I grilled them very carefully. Only turning them once. And then you have the sauce; yum! I only made half the sauce and had plenty. I ended up dipping my sweet potato fries in the sauce! Will make again!

Tex-Mex Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2013
Love this soup! The only changes I made since I had to use what I had on hand was subbed out the tomato soup and boullion cubes for a 6oz can of tomato paste and the leftover turkey stock and gravy from when I roasted the turkey. Amazingly good! I'm a fan of cilantro, so that was perfect added on top with the shredded cheese and sour cream. Oh, I didn't add the sour cream in the soup as I was making it either. Just on top after it was done :)

Broken Spaghetti Risotto

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2013
What a great side dish! Yes, I added more chicken broth and cooked it longer than the recipe stated, but it turned out so flavorful! I didn't have fresh parsley. Just used the dried stuff. I also used a little wheat pasta mixed in with the regular. Fantastic! Will be making again and again!

Chocolate Tres Leches Cake

Nana's Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2013
I loved this! Even my non squash eating 14-year-old loved it! I followed the recipe pretty much. I only had a 10 3/4 oz can of cream of chicken and I ommitted the sage. Also, instead of boiling my squash I just microwaved it for about six minutes. Loved it and will be making it again. Thanks for a great recipe :)

Ham Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2013
This is so good! Had leftover ham from Christmas to use and I'm glad I chose this recipe to use it! Turned out very creamy and comforting. I followed the recipe as is except for adding the pimentos. Didn't have them on hand. This got excellent reviews from my kids, so this is a keeper!

Hoisin Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2014
This was so good! I had a jar of hoisin in the fridge leftover from some other recipe. I will now be purchasing hoisin again just to make this recipe! I was a little lazy and used dried garlic, ginger, and onion powder and just mixed it in a little bowl along with the other ingredients. I finely chopped about 3 jalapeno rings and it gave it the perfect pop. This made plenty of sauce for a large family pack of chicken legs. Even my picky 11-year-old loved it, so it's a winner in my book! Thanks Semigourmet!

My Most Requested Dinner Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2014
Delicious! So much better than premade salad dressing! I subbed the white vinegar with apple cider vinegar and that was my only change. Made the salad leaving out the onions. It was sooo good. Makes me want to have a salad every day until I use up this dressing! Thanks Saveur :)

Lucky's Quickie Chickie

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2014
Loved this recipe! If you have fresh basil this is a recipe you must try! The basil, balsamic, & honey blended together perfectly. I usually do the rosemary & thyme, garlic chicken, but this was a delicious way to change up my method. Make sure you make plenty of sauce to spoon over your chicken! Thanks LN :)

This recipe got a big thumbs up from hubs! Followed the recipe exactly except I had to use frozen corn & lime juice from a bottle. It was wonderful! I'll be fixing this a lot as long as the squash keep coming in! Thanks, Bibi :)
