Savoury Sauté Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2014
Yum! Okay, I have to admit I had to look up herbs provencal. I used rosemary, thyme, basil, oregano and Italian parsley, salt & pepper. Delish! And they did smell wonderful cooking! This dish went perfectly with our grilled steaks. Thanks again, Don!

Blake's Best Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2014
I have now found the perfect way to prepare steaks! I have tried many methods, marinades, but this is the one! And also, I had to use a little dried rosemary because I didn't have fresh. And I let my steaks rest probably 25 - 30 minutes. It created a very tasty crust on the steak once done. Those were my only changes. I just can't tell you enough how good these were! Hubs raved about them! Wow! Thanks Blake for my new way of preparing steak :)

My Most Requested Dinner Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2014
Delicious! So much better than premade salad dressing! I subbed the white vinegar with apple cider vinegar and that was my only change. Made the salad leaving out the onions. It was sooo good. Makes me want to have a salad every day until I use up this dressing! Thanks Saveur :)

Hoisin Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2014
This was so good! I had a jar of hoisin in the fridge leftover from some other recipe. I will now be purchasing hoisin again just to make this recipe! I was a little lazy and used dried garlic, ginger, and onion powder and just mixed it in a little bowl along with the other ingredients. I finely chopped about 3 jalapeno rings and it gave it the perfect pop. This made plenty of sauce for a large family pack of chicken legs. Even my picky 11-year-old loved it, so it's a winner in my book! Thanks Semigourmet!

Zucchini Lasagna With Beef and Sausage

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2014
This was excellent! I used a larger pan because I like to have plenty of room without the lasagna bubbling over. I also used about 4 med. zucchini just sliced as thin as I could. Didn't salt or precook them. Used 1lb each of Italian sausage and hamburger and threw in some mushrooms cause I love them! Besides that, I did the recipe exactly as written. Loved it! Next time I might use a bigger container of ricotta since I used a bigger pan. And I did cover with foil for about the last 20 min of baking, but took that off again when adding the last layer of foil. This recipe is so worth the time and effort. Thanks Jeff B!

Best Ever Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2014
Very delicious! I pretty much doubled the recipe because I had a 3 lb package of hamburger. Added 3 eggs because they were large. Doubled the spices. I really don't like bread in my meatloaf, so I opted for 1 cup of uncooked instant oatmeal. And I used a 15 1/2 oz can of tomato sauce mixed with the mustard, no brown sugar. I added potatoes and carrots around the meatloaf and baked it at 350 for about 2 1/2 hours. Very comforting and delicious!

Ham Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2013
This is so good! Had leftover ham from Christmas to use and I'm glad I chose this recipe to use it! Turned out very creamy and comforting. I followed the recipe as is except for adding the pimentos. Didn't have them on hand. This got excellent reviews from my kids, so this is a keeper!

Nana's Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2013
I loved this! Even my non squash eating 14-year-old loved it! I followed the recipe pretty much. I only had a 10 3/4 oz can of cream of chicken and I ommitted the sage. Also, instead of boiling my squash I just microwaved it for about six minutes. Loved it and will be making it again. Thanks for a great recipe :)

Guinness® Corned Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2013
Love this! Corned beef and Guinness are the perfect combo! I did keep in the oven for about 4 hours versus the 2 1/2. Mine was only a 3 pounder. I bought a second one while they were on sale. Think I'll try this one in the crock.

Broken Spaghetti Risotto

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2013
What a great side dish! Yes, I added more chicken broth and cooked it longer than the recipe stated, but it turned out so flavorful! I didn't have fresh parsley. Just used the dried stuff. I also used a little wheat pasta mixed in with the regular. Fantastic! Will be making again and again!

Tex-Mex Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2013
Love this soup! The only changes I made since I had to use what I had on hand was subbed out the tomato soup and boullion cubes for a 6oz can of tomato paste and the leftover turkey stock and gravy from when I roasted the turkey. Amazingly good! I'm a fan of cilantro, so that was perfect added on top with the shredded cheese and sour cream. Oh, I didn't add the sour cream in the soup as I was making it either. Just on top after it was done :)

Kickin' Turkey Burger with Caramelized Onions and Spicy Sweet Mayo

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2013
Great burger with an awesome sauce! I could not believe I was out of Worchestershire sauce so I subbed in some Moore's Marinade I had in t he fridge. And I didn't have the dry mesquite seasoning so I added Adobo all purpose seasoning. I grilled them very carefully. Only turning them once. And then you have the sauce; yum! I only made half the sauce and had plenty. I ended up dipping my sweet potato fries in the sauce! Will make again!

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2013
This is such a good chili recipe. I think it's the first time I've made chili without using some type of canned tomatoes but just tomato juice and tomato sauce. I followed the recipe to a T and it was absolutely delicious! Definitely will make again!

Dave's Georgia Black Eyed Peas

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2013
I fixed this on New Year's Day and it was sooo good. Cooking the bacon and then the onions and then adding it to the beans made them so flavorful. The only change I made was I used chicken stock in place of the water and bouillon cubes. This is a keeper!

Spaghetti with Bacon

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2012
Made this for dinner last night and it was good. Very kid friendly. I added extra salt and a little pepper and topped it with Parmesan cheese. Also, I used dried parsley because I didn't have fresh. Served with steamed broccoli & cauliflower & carrots. Very economical. Will make again.
