About this Cook
My husband and I have been married over 35 years and have 2 grown children. I love to cook when I'm not working, and spend lots of time looking for new recipies. My husband and I love to travel, camp, and visit casinos. My husband bow hunts, so I cook with alot of elk meat(very lean and great flavor). We also own 4 Devon Rex cats that are our best companions around the house.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things are cooking any meat on our Traeger grill and making different potato salads and baked beans. I cook some Italian foods, recipies handed down by my Mom. I also experiment with many Caribbean recipies, as I love the tase of their spices.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas and Thanksgiving menus blended from Southern foods, like Kale in Roux, to traditional turkey, which we have learned to deep fry. After tasting deep fried, we'd never go back to simple oven baking. Did try smoking on the Traeger, but will go back to deep frying after brining!

Strawberry Muffins
Wonderful base recipe! I just tried this, and after taking the other reviewers advise, this is what I came up with: Added 1/2 tsp cinnamon, and 1 tsp vanilla. Also used 1/4 cup of both white and brown sugar. But the best for me was I used cranberries(always have on hand) instead of the strawberries. Wow, what a great punch of sweet and sour. The inside was really moist and flavorful. Great start to a nice muffin base. So many things one can do with this one.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence
Great flavor, have used often. I love smoky flavor, so I always add a dash of Mesquite or Hickory Liquid Smoke.

Best Tuna Casserole
I have a Tuina Casserole recipe similar to this. I use Kraft Mac and Cheese, prepared as directed on the box. Mix tuna with Cream of Mushroom soup, add fresh frozen green pears, sometimes sliced black olives together. I use crumbled Barbeque flavored potato chips. Layer in a greased casserole dish, starting with the chips, mac and cheese, tuna, repeat until done, top with the chips so they get crunchy.
