Swedish Meatballs (Svenska Kottbullar)

Reviewed: May 25, 2014
This is the first time I've made this and it was a 10 all the way around! The meatballs were perfect ( I used all ground beef because that's what I had) and the gravy was amazing! I made mashed potatoes and I have a couple of very happy men around here! I will be making this again for sure!!!

Turkey in a Bag

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
This is the only way I make turkey! I follow the instructions on the bag box and it's always perfect! I have considered doing my turkey without a bag, but then ask myself why? I've never had a turkey that didn't turn out beautifully browned, succulent and delicious! And there is always plenty of yummy juices for gravy! =)

Buttermilk Seed Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
Oh this was so good! The dough was a bit too dense for my KitchenAid and I ended up kneading it by hand, but it turned out wonderful!!! =)

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2008
This should be renamed to: OMG Pot Pie! This is FANTASTIC! I used the chicken broth to boil everything in, and reserved it after draining and used for the gravy like suggested by others. This is a very impressive and delicious dish. I plan on making it for company soon! =)

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2008
I never thought I'd use a different pumpkin bread recipe than the one I've used for years...this is fantastic. Next time I'll add in some chopped walnuts and I want to try that cinnamon/butter/sugar topping a few have mentioned here. But baked as written is absolutely wonderful. My husband thought it was better than the old recipe too! Thanks for such a great recipe! =)

Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2008
This was another keeper recipe! I didn't thicken the gravy as written though, I left the meat in and made my roux seperately. Just a 1/4 cup of flour mixed with enough water to make like pancake batter consistency and poured it in...voila! Perfect! =)

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
Another satisfied customer! My first ever homemade pie...and I'm almost 51! I'm glad I tried this recipe first....it's so delicious, I'll never need to try another! I use ready-made crust - next time I'll lattice it! Mine's not horribly gorgeous, but it's amazingly tasty!!! God Bless you Grandma Ople!!! =) Update...I baked your grandma's pie again and was noticing how often somebody makes it. Your Grandma Ople must really have a special place in Heaven...she brings joy to so many day after day with her special apple pie! It turned out just beautiful this time - I did the lattice work! I will post a picture of it before I cut into it! Thank you again Moshasmama for sharing your Grandma Ople with us!!! =)

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2008
We need the option for 10 stars on this one! These were AMAZING! I made the rolls just like the recipe calls for but I made a different icing for them - Hubby is not a cream cheese fan. But let me tell you....these are MONEY! Hubby said they were "professional". Gotta love that! =)

This was pretty good. I should have added in more tomatoes though. My fault, not the recipe's fault! A good and quick dinner! =)

D's Famous Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2008
Fantastic! And so easy to whip up! I did drain the tomatoes, didn't cut the onions too small as someone else had mentioned and I did add in some chili powder. I used a whole 4 oz can of chopped green chilis too. Not too hot at all. The consistency is beautiful - just pulsed a few times. I will make this again! I may try adding in liquid smoke next time, I love a smokey salsa, but this is a 10 just as it is!!! =)

Hamburger Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2008
I made a few changes to this...and it was WONDERFUL! It was really good as written, but a little bland - but would be good for young children. I used 1 can tomato and 1 can cream of mushroom as others have done. I also added about a half cup red wine, a little worcestershire, I used 3/4ths of a thawed bag of frozen corn/green beans/carrots, added a bit of garlic also. This really is shephard's pie and should go under that heading....I cooked up about 5 lbs of potatoes too so there would be plenty! this is one I'll make over and over again! =)
