D' Best Chicken N' Dumplings

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2010
SIMPLY THE BEST!! This reminds me of the Chicken N' Dumplings my grandmother used to serve at big family dinners 30 years ago. The dumplings were great, just the way I remember...I've been searching for a recipe like this one for years.

Simple Country Ribs

Reviewed: May 25, 2009
Boiled the ribs for aprox. 45 minutes in a pot of 1/2 water & 1/2 beer w/2 cloves of garlic, 1/2 an onion (qtr), salt, pepper & a few dashes of soy sauce. We then grilled them for an additional 30 minutes, coating heavy with bbq sauce on each turn. We ended up with very tender ribs that nearly fell into the coals. They were all totally gone at the end of the meal.

Swordfish was on sale so I figured I'd pick some up & throw it on the grill. I'm so glad that I took the time to look up this recipe, since I had everything needed to make this quick, easy meal. I followed everything as written and it came out just WONDERFUL!!!

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
I have made this afew time and it always comes out fabulous. I sometime replace the white wine with chicken broth just cuz I don't have any wine on hand, but it still turns out fine. I have also added fresh mushrooms which just adds to the GREAT flavors in this dish!!

Cranberry Walnut Relish I

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
I made this for Thanksgiving and it was a HUGE hit. We were over at a big family gathering with aprox 35 people and there was also canned cranberry sauce served, but the people who took that first went back for some of this once they heard everyone praising how great this relish tasted. As suggested by others, I too used ½ orange marmalade and ½ apricot preserves and added about 4 ounces – crushed pineapple and a little orange zest. I’ve been TOLD that I MUST bring this again for Christmas.

Spinach Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
Made this for a church social today and only got one for myself because they were gone so quickly, although I did receive MANY complements!!! I followed the advice of "the most helpful reviewer", Hima and added some extras. This is a great appetizer, but needs a few changes to recipe as written.

Made this last night, it came out good but we followed others advice and added aprox. 1/2 cup white wine, 2 tsp. lemon juice, an addtional few tablespoons of parmesan cheese and a touch of corn starch to thicken. It was alttle bland for my taste... but a good enough alfredo sauce.

Catfish Cakes

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2008
I cooked the fish in 1/2 white wine & 1/2 water and I used seasoned bread crumbs instead of crackers since I didn'nt have crackers ~ they came out well but not great...I'll try again with crackers to see if the flavor improves.

Grilled Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
Stopped on Saturday afternoon & bought some freshly picked corn. I let it soak overnight in just alittle bit of water & ice, left in our cooler. It was unreal how easy it was to remove the silk off the cob the following afternoon. I smeared aprox. 1/2 Tbl. butter to each ear and alttle salt and pepper, before grilling and didn't need to add anything after but a bit more salt. I grilled each for the full 1/2 hour, turning twice. I can't remember having such wonderful corn in years!!
