Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2011
These are the only pancakes I make! My boyfriend loves these! I don't use buttermilk since it makes them too dense, so I just substitute milk plus a tablespoon or two of vinegar to make the milk curdle (as directed in this recipe). It tastes great! Try adding fresh fruit too!

Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2011
Very easy to make. My only qualm with the recipe as written is that it comes out very, very salty if you use chicken boullion cubes. I cut the chicken boullion amount in half and added some chicken broth instead and it was still quite salty. I think next time I make this (which I will because it's oh-so-good and easy) I will use low-sodium chicken broth in leui of the cubes and taste it at the end and add a little sprinkle of salt if necessary. Otherwise, it was great. I let my soup simmer for about an hour before I dumped in the egg noodles. Very tasty and healthy (sans the salt). Thank you for this recipe!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2011
Very good! I made it almost as described, but I used dried spices, no fennel seeds (didn't have them), and omitted the extra tomato sauce since I didn't need it. Came out great! I also did what most users suggested and just soaked the noodles in hot water for 30 mins instead of cooking them. Came out awesome! Will make it again.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
Good recipe. Good, if not a bit salty as is. I would cut down the salt seasoning down if I made this again. Would also probably just cook the pork and pour the sauce on afterward to prevent the breading from becoming soggy. Will make again.

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
Delicious! I followed the recipe as is except added a little less white and brown sugar than called for. Came out delicious like a cross between a pecan pie and a pumpkin pie! Oh, and I added cinnamon at the behest of my cinnamon loving boyfriend. Will make this again for sure!

Broccoli Chicken Divan

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
Good, but does need extra things added to it hence the lack of 5 star. Followed other reviewers. Added more bread crumbs, salt, pepper, seasoning mix, and garlic powder. More cheese too. Came out excellent and tasty!

Macaroni and Cheese V

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2009
Tastes awesome! I made it without the bread crumbs because I didn't have any. It's tasty, the right amount of gooey, and wasn't clumpy or grainy for me. :) Would make it again.

Decent. I liked the fish better without the dip sauce though.

Baked Whole Cauliflower

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
The topping doesn't stay on well and didn't coat evenly, but it was quite tasty. I'd probably make it again but put melted butter on the cauliflower first and then put the bread crumbs sprinkled on that. I also decided instead of steaming a whole head just to break the cauliflower down into smaller pieces and steam that way. Made it much easier.

Baked Salmon II

Delicious! I'm quite pleased with how this turned out. Honestly you could use less olive oil though as in the end I had a ton of it left over. I'd make it again!

Was super easy and came out well! Next time I think I would sub the sour cream for ricotta cheese though.

Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
Turned out great and was really easy. I would also suggest adding a small amount of flour to thicken up the mix as it didn't cook fast enough and I ended up baking it 10-15 mins longer than it called for just to get the middle of the pie to not be "jiggly" and goopy.

Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
This came out really well but only after adding nearly double the soy sauce and other flavor enhancers. I think if we had made it as the recipe calls for it it would've been too bland. We also added baby corn, water chestnuts, and used all fresh veggies. Would make it again for sure!

Savory Corn Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
Made it with salted butter but added no extra salt. Then I added double the sugar. Followed directions otherwise. The muffins were fluffy and came out well, but they still weren't really THAT sweet and a tad on the "tasteless" side. I probably would add more sugar next time but otherwise a super simple recipe.

Good, but quite salty. I'd probably use less onion mix next time.

Golden Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2008
Cooked exactly as described and I think I shouldn't have added water to the condensed mushroom soup. I don't think you were supposed to, but I didn't know any better. They were tasty and the sauce was good over mashed potatoes, but I would probably do what others did and brown them on a pan with spices since they were a tad bland. Will probably try again in the future though since they were super easy to prepare for a college student.

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2008
It's delicious! I halved the recipe for myself so I could have leftovers. It's also great on a college budget. :) I added a little bit more onion than called for, but followed the rest of the recipe. If it gets too thick at the end you can add a tiny bit of water and it goes back to normal. I will make this again in the future for sure!
