Key Lime Pie VIII

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
Very good, but better w/ some changes. I made it the 2nd time with 3/4 cup of fresh lime juice and only 2 tsp. of lime zest - I also used a bought graham cracker crust. Much better, IMO. We like to eat it frozen - very refreshing on a hot day.

Tiramisu Toffee Dessert

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
Very good, but too sweet. I made it the 2nd time using only 1/2 cup of sugar and we liked it much better.

Coconut Pound Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2007
Mine was okay, but a little too "eggy" and not moist. It wasn't dense like most pound cakes - it was fluffier like a mix between a pound cake and an angel food cake.

Martha Washington Candies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2006
I also make this w/ a stick of real butter - not margarine and 2 boxes of confectioner's sugar. No problems with not being firm enough. I use dipping chocolate rather than melted chocolate chips. I also make these up in advance and freeze (before dipping). I freeze on a cookie sheet that I've lined w/ waxed paper. When they are frozen, I transfer to a zipper freezer bag. I dip as needed all holiday season.

Dirt Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2006
Way too many cookie crumbs - the recipe I use for dirt cake has only 20 oz. of Oreo's, which is more than plenty.

German Chocolate Cake Frosting II

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2006
Takes a long time to cook and thicken - I like the original GC frosting better. Also, this does not make enough frosting. The original recipe from Bakers Chocolate is much better, IMO - same ingredients, but proportioned differently and it works a lot better to thicken.

Southern Banana Pudding

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2005
I personally do not care for the "fake" banana taste of the banana cream pudding. It' very easy to make a real banana pudding and that, IMO, tastes so much better.

Christmas Bark Candy

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2004
Very good, but be careful melting the white chocolate chips - they burn/scortch VERY easily (this makes a grainy, clumpy mess that you can't salvage) - I don't rec. melting them on high heat. I microwave for 30 seconds at a time; stir; heat again, etc. Also, it helps a lot to cool the melted candy several minutes before adding the mini M&M's. That way the colors don't "bleed" into the white chocolate.

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2004
Very good muffins. I halved the recipe and used only 1/4 cup oil rather than 1/2 cup because of comments in reviews about the muffins being greasy. I also used low-fat sour cream.

Easy Grilled Chicken Teriyaki

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2004
Excellent taste and so easy! The sesame oil is what "makes it". I did use low sodium teriyaki sauce and only grilled 4 min. per side (over very high heat).

Mississippi Mud Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2003
These are deliciously sinful! The recipe comments indicate they are sweet, so I don't understand the surprise of the critical rater. Couldn't you figure out from the list of ingredients before you made these that they'd be really SWEET??????

Cheese Ball I

Reviewed: May 2, 2002
Delicious and SO easy. BUT - I think the amt. of Cheddar cheese is a printed incorrectly. I used one cup of finely shredded cheddar and it was perfect - 16 oz. would be too much.

Mexican Cornbread Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2002
Very good, but mine was a little dry. Next time, I am going to add a little mayonnaise to the ranch dressing and put it on top of the crumbled cornbread before I add the other ingredients.

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2002
Very easy and delicious recipe! I have made it twice - first by the exact recipe. Second time, I added 3/4 c. raw rice to the bottom of the pan, stirred in 1+ tsp. of taco seasoning and poured in approximately 1 1/2 cups chicken broth. I then laid the prepared chicken on top. Covered with foil and baked 45 min. Uncovered to melt cheese. YUM!!

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2002
This recipe was bland to me (even to my kids thought so). After I made several modifications, it was great. I added more garlic, onion, lime juice, and stirred about 1/3 cup medium picante sauce into the chicken. Also, added more salt and some Cummin.
