About this Cook
I love my husband and I love to cook... my husband loves me, and loves to eat. My life is perfect. We keep a blog to entertain our distant family, often times we share cooking stories. Feel free to snoop: tomisko.wordpress.com
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything that produces smiles.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have a multi-cultural home, so we create new traditions everyday.
My cooking triumphs
I turn my tragedies into triumphs... I forgot a cup of flour in my cookie recipe and ended up with flattened mush. I put the nine dysfunctional cookies into a bowl, mashed them up with cream cheese, then rolled them into balls with a coating of powdered sugar and then refridgerated them :-) Welcome to the world my little "Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake Balls"!! They were wonderful, and the story is great.
My cooking tragedies
Again involving cookies... I thought freezing frosting into balls and wrapping it in cookie dough would result in a frosting filled cookie. haha, not the case. The cookies essentially exploded and got stuck to the cookie sheet... they did taste good though ;-)

Pesto Grilled Cheese Sandwich
What a clever way to spruce up a good ole standby! Even though this is just incredibly simply, sometimes that is all it takes to add some wow to your meal. I added turkey and tomato just to see how snazzy I could get, and it was great!

Best Ever Hot Artichoke Dip
This recipe was fantastic! For some kick I added a can of diced jalapenos. Rather than serve it as an appetizer I made open-faced sandwiches with it. I broiled some sliced ciabbiatta bread then layered on the dip, peppered shredded chicken, and mozzarella cheese before broiling the cheese to a nice bubbly brown. I added a slice of tomato to the top and sprinkled with dried parsley for some color. It was a HUGE HUGE delicious hit!!

Too Much Chocolate Cake
I made this for a whole bunch of foodies at a gourmet-style BBQ for my hubby's work. It was a MONSTER hit. Apparently it was still getting compliments the next day at work. Very moist and very elegant. Perfect with coffee on a cool Autumn night in front of a fireplace...
