Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
This was great. I followed all of the ingredients but I used about 2 pounds of top round steak and kept all the other ingredients the same. We don't like celery that much so just added 1 stalk for a bit of flavor. I seared the meat with the flour and seasonings. I then added a bit of red wine to de-glaze. I added this to the slow cooker. I also added some minced garlic and about 1.5 TBS of the dry onion package slow cooked about 4 hours high then 3 hrs low. It came out wonderful. Served with some brown rice. Yum.

Bacon-Balsamic Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
These were the best. I followed everyone's recommendation and halved the red onion portion and grated it. I didn't have any bacon on hand but it was great even without it. I cant imagine how much better it would be with it. I compensated by adding a tiny pinch of salt. I also used a small sandwich bag to fill the egg whites. It made is so easy and it made those pretty swirls. I topped with a sprinkle of paprika. Next time I will make these using those real bacon bits and someone has mentioned. Thanks for the great recipe!

Teriyaki Flank Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
This was easy and yet so delicious! I marinated for 2 days. I seared it to get those great grill marks then stuck it in the oven for about 4 mins each side. Came out great! I also added some green onions to the marinade and also reserved some of the marinade to drizzle on top. Served it on top of brown rice and it was awesome.

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2010
This was so tasty. I did not have the cashews so I didnt put it in but i'm still rating it 5 stars on flavor. I did not cut back on the butter but used I cant believe its not butter to reduce the calories. Added a few shakes of red pepper flakes to give it a kick! Very good. Thanks for the post and next time i'll have to try it with the cashews.

Spanish Rice Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
Very good. I changed it up a bit since a lot of folks said that it was too sweet. I eliminated the brown sugar all together. Added 1/2 cup of Chili sauce and 1/2 of tomato/pasta sauce instead of the 1 cup of Chili sauce. Used brown basmati rice. I also added 1/2 tsp of cayenne for a kick and a couple pinches of taco seasoning/chili powder. I browned the beef in a dutch oven, added the remaining ingredients. Simmered this for about 30 mins (did my best not to keep opening the lid) and then transferred it straight to the oven for another 20-25 mins with the top off. I served with a dollop of sour cream and cilantro. Was wonderful!!

Frank's® Red Hot® Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
This was the best. My hubbie and I really enjoyed it while watching the game! I boiled the chicken also and used mozzarella cheese instead of the blue cheese. Blue cheese would have been too much. Also used light cream cheese and light blue cheese dressing and you cant even tell....it was so tasty! Thanks!

Unbelievably Awesome Barbeque Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2009
I am so impressed with myself with the help of this recipe of course! This was sooooo yummy and tastes just like the bbq chicken pizza I love. I make the recipe exactly except used honey bbq sauce, topped with some crumbled bacon and used a combination of mozzarella cheese and shredded cheddar. Oh...also use Bobolli pizza crust. DELISH!

Big Smokey Burgers

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
These Burgers were just okay. I followed the recipe exactly and it had this sweet flavor that I didnt really like for a burger. It tasted more like meatloaf then a burger. Sorry, but I probably wont be making this again. Thanks for posting though.

Smoked Sausage Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
This dish is very good with a few revisions. Definitely cut the spices by 1/2 tsp. Even then it was a bit much. I also added a little less than 1/4 cup of chicken broth. Over rice was great.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
I agree with another reviewer in that this came out a little too dense for my taste. I loved the brown sugar topping though. I will continue to keep looking for the best meatloaf recipe. Thanks for the post though!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2009
This was really good but I am rating based on the recipe. Its a 5 star with the modifications. I seasoned my filets with some cajun seasoning and added about 1/4 cup of seasoned bread crumbs to the topping mixture. I dont think it needed so much butter. I will try reducing that next time. Yumm!!

Simple BBQ Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
OH MY GOODNESS!!! This was soooooo awesome. I cannot believe I made this! I was told this was the best ribs EVER! Better then any restaurant even! I must admit that this was better then I've ever had also. This is what I did and it was perfect! I covered the ribs with water in a huge stockpot. Added: 1 onion cut in wedges, 3/4 cup of soy sauce, pinch of garlic powder, black pepper. Boiled this for 45 mins. Let it sit in the marinade for 1 hour. Then brushed on my BBQ sauce- Sweet Rays BBQ- honey bbq. Transfered to the oven and baked for 1 hour. Make sure to reapply every 20 mins. Everyone will love this!

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
I made a few changes as others have recommended. Cut the sugar that is mixed with the cream cheese in half. I couldnt imagine adding more. I also only used enough of the butter to cover the top of the cresents. I also sprinkled the sugar and a bit of cinnamon on top of that. It has a simple taste but thats what makes it so good and I wouldnt want to change that by adding anything else to this. This was great served cold!

Pizza Casserole

This recipe is sooo easy, versatile, and tastes great! Definitely a keeper. I kept everything the same but used low fat motz shredded cheese and turkey pepperoni. I added some italian seasonings while the beef was cooking. I also quartered the pepperoni before adding them. Delish!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
This recipe by itself was very bland. I made it with a all the changes that others have recommeded. Added half the beer, 1 tsp of worchester, garlic, onion powder, salt to taste, can of mushrooms and it was still bland. After it was finished, I pulled the roast out and simply shredded it and added bbq sauce. I piled the beef on the french bread with butter, topped it with cheese placed it in the broiler until the bread got toasty and the cheese melted. It was good but with all the changes it wasnt the same recipe.
