Basic Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2003
This was yummy and really easy. The only thing I did different was puree half of it before adding the ham to make it thicker since we like it that way.

Chicken Pesto a la Lisa

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2002
This was very flavorful and surprisingly easy! The only note I would make is to use a good strong feta for flavor contrast. I used a mild version and it would have been better with stronger feta flavor.

Alaskan BBQ Salmon

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2002
This was awesome and soooo easy. I, too, definitely recommend the foil (I used the foil sheets with the holes for grilling). I also brushed a good amount of sauce inside the fish to get the flavor all over. My husband went wild for this one.

Asian Salmon

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2002
Excellent recipe. With three young children, I am always leery of something with too strong of an ethnic flavor, but they all LOVED this one. My husband and myself loved it too. We will definitely be making this again.

Turkey Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2002
"Yumdillyicious!" were my husbands words about this one. I used Thanksgiving leftovers but will definitely do this one again with canned turkey for ease later. Hope it works...

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2002
I used sirloin tip roast and it was AWESOME! The only time consuming part was cutting up the meat and getting the fat pieces out. Made a great birthday dinner for my Mom.

Divine Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2002
Five stars the first day, ten the second. I just had a bowl of leftovers and it was even better than last night. Yum. Since so many reviews mentioned how chunky it was, I took the suggestion of another review and swapped one can of tomatoes for a can of tomato sauce. Turned out perfect. Next time I will make a double or triple batch for some to freeze.

Awesome Ham Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2002
My husband and my dad both REALLY liked this recipe. I cut down on the sweet pickles since I'm not a huge fan.It had great flavor and I'll definitely make this again. Would be a great potluck dish.

Broccoli Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2002
This was a hit at our family Christmas party last night. The only problem with this one is that the topping doesn't stay on. To fix this next time I would mix the cream cheese mixture, cheddar cheese, broccoli and tomato together (reserving some broccoli and tomato), then spread it on the baked crescent rolls, then top it off with the reserved broccoli/tomato for a pretty topping.

Cajun Style Red Bean and Rice Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2003
This was a great recipe. I did it in the slow cooker and used mild andouille, less cajun spice and more rice for the kids and everyone ate it up. Will make this again!

Sirloin Steak with Garlic Butter

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2003
This was a winner for everyone at our house. I was a bit leery using butter, it's just not common, but it worked well with the garlic. I served it with a potato casserole from this site and green beans. Good eats!

Unique Fruity Green Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2003
This was a hit at our 4th of July party. Great flavors in a combination I would never have thought of myself. Methinks there may be a bit too much dressing, good as it is. I would toss maybe 2/3 at first and go from there. Also, I toasted the almonds. Yum.
