About this Cook
I'm a young cook! I especially enjoy preparing Italian, Indian and Southern meals. I love finding ways to make traditional meals healthier without sacrificing taste. Of course there are no short cuts with Southern cuisine! I've lived in many regions of the country and in Europe for a few years, so I guess that has something to do with my interest in all different kinds of food. I love anything Italian or Indian-and the food is no exception! I'm also a student at the University of Washington...and I believe being a college student is no excuse for eating bad food!
My favorite things to cook
Gourmet, Southern , Indian, Italian, and vegan (my sister is a vegan). I occasionally bake muffins.
My cooking triumphs
Anytime I make anything Indian I am amazed if it turns out well! There are so many flavors-the work is worth it!! My first lasagna was also a triumph because it pleased my family.
My cooking tragedies
Making homemade pasta. People asked me, "What is this dish supposed to be?" Sadly, it was SUPPOSED to be spaghetti.

Teriyaki Sauce and Marinade
This was good! It was very salty though, so next time I will use low sodium soy's a must. I had to add extra sugar to try to offset the salty taste. Great recipe though! Use fresh ingredients! I served it with chicken and brocolli over rice.
