Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Awesome recipe I added a bit more celery and 1/4 cup of red wine...and 4 more cups of beef broth...but I think 2 extra cups would have been fine.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Added the 8 cups of chopped fresh Spinach instead of the bag of frozen spinach. Added 1 cup of sharp cheddar and 2 cups of Mozz, because I didn't have any Munster. Sprinkled Paprika on top.

Raspberry Spinach Salad

So Awesome. Followed the directions exactly and even family members that claim not to like salads, went back for seconds, thirds and fourths! The dressing was a perfect complement.

Best White Icing Ever

Followed directions exactly but it didn't taste good and left a bitter taste in my mouth. We made it for my daughter who has a lot of food allergies, and she took one taste and said it was icky, she wouldn't touch her cupcake again till we cut the top off. We through away the doll cake I made for her and the rest of the frosting. Also, though it held it's form, it wasn't easy to spread smooth, so the decorating looked sloppy. I used a buttercream recipe for the rest of the cupcakes and it was much easier to work with.

Fluffy White Frosting

but next time I would refrigerate it to cool it before putting it on the cake, we even decorated some cupcakes with the frosting the next day and it still looked great and held it's form.

Cinnamon Pumpkin Waffles

The pumpkin flavor was lacking for me. I followed the recipe to the T besides substituting 1/2 cup whole wheat flour and a 1/2 cup all purpose flour instead of the 1 cup whole wheat flour. I also left out the nuts and added it as a topping for those who wanted. Still good, but I might try another recipe where the pumpkin flavor is more evident.

Spicy Italian Sausage and Black Bean Soup

It had a great flavor. I would use mild sausage instead of hot next time. I didn't have any basil, so I added some dry basil the same time I added the oregano. I also didn't have enough spinach, but I did chop up what I had and cooked it along with the other veggies. I also didn't have any of the rotini pasta, so I substituted egg noodles. With all my adjustments the soup was still amazing.

Chunky Potato Soup

Great tasting! The vegetable mix needs to be simmered longer or they need to be boiled for about five extra minutes so they are tender enough. This is a favorite potato soup recipe.

Sausage and Mushroom Calzones

We left out the mushrooms and in one calzone I substituted black olives instead of sausage. Both were awesome and my husband absolutely loved them. This will be one of our permanent staples.
