Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2014
Too crunchy for my liking and it really wasn't anything special. Not enough peanut butter flavour despite adding an extra 1/4 cup. Don't think I'll be making these again.

Rustic Tuscan Soup with Kale

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2014
Good basic recipe but I changed it up by baking my bacon in the oven (350 in the oven on a cookie sheet for approximately 20 min depending on how thin or thick your bacon is - less time for thinner of course). After bacon is cooked, remove from pan and chop it up into pieces. Pour the bacon grease in the sheet into the pot and saute with diced onions and a few cloves of diced garlic. I then added 1/4 cup of flour to make a roux and then added the other ingredients so it'd be a thicker soup. Hope this helps!

SO GOOD! So many compliments that these were THE best ginger cookie they'd ever had. Thanks Amy1028 for adding this recipe onto allrecipes.com!

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2011
Followed the recipe as directed and it was a hit. The only changes I made was using turkey sausage and I added half a cup of rice with half a cup of broth and half a cup of water to cook it in and it turned out wonderfully. Bon appetite!

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2011
Two words: fantastic and easy. I took the advice of other reviewers and rubbed the chicken on the outside and inside the skin with a mixture of olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder and poultry seasoning. I set the chicken in the slow cooker on a bed of celery, onions and carrots and two cups of stock. Chicken was so tender and flavorful - def a keeper! Bon appetite!

Marinated Greek Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
Excellent! Used regular organic greek yogurt and added tomato paste and basil like other reviewers suggested and marinated overnight. I then seasoned roughly chopped red onion, mushrooms and green peppers with salt and steak seasoning and skewered them with the chicken and grilled on the BBQ. Turned out fantastic!

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2010
Everyone gobbled this one up even though this wasn't my fave. I used light cream cheese, extra cloves of roasted garlic and a 19 oz jar of Newman's Alfredo sauce and the family loved it. Will make it again for gatherings.

Not good at all. My search for a pepper steak continues.

Korean Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
Great recipe to start from but I thought it was too vinegary - I toned down the vinegar by a little bit, added brown sugar and sesame oil and it was a great side dish to the Korean BBQ marinade chicken and the Bulgogi from this site. Yum!

Korean BBQ Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
Excellent recipe but with the suggestions from other reviewers which includes adding minced garlic to the marinade and thickening up the marinade to use as sauce with corn starch. I also did not have chili paste so I used a good heaping tspful of chili pepper flakes. To cook the chicken, I pan-fried the chicken to get a good brown color on the outside and then stuck it in the oven with some of the sauce at 350 for 20 minutes and it turned out great. Bon appetite!

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2010
You can use this as a base and add anything besides the corn and black bean. I've tried adding broccoli in the last 5 min and then cashews at the last minute and it was great. Nice side dish but also kind of bland so I'd try different combinations of veggies and nuts to punch up the flavor.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2010
Great with different kinds of root beer but I'm struggling with what kind of BBQ sauce to use. I think once I get the right sauce, this will be the perfect recipe!

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2010
Great coleslaw and I don't usually even like the stuff! To lower the calories, I used low fat mayo and it still tasted great. I took the advice of other reviewers and used celery seed instead of poppy seeds and added a pinch more of salt. I didn't add radishes but I'm sure it would have been tasty as well. Bon appetite!

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
This is a great recipe for a starting point for any roasted chicken or other chicken parts. I add some BBQ sauce to this and put it on the grill and it tastes great. Seasonings are easy to change to your liking! I don't like mixing the potatos in with the chicken and end up roasting them separately and I find it comes out better as the potatos and chicken come out crispier.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
Great and easy recipe to follow! I liked the addition of soy sauce and worcestshire sauce that other reviewers suggested to give some tang to the meat. I used one egg with egg yolk and lots of panko bread crumbs to bring it all together. I also used dry parsley and it still came out great. I suggest putting some finely grated ginger in as well to give it that extra special touch. This has become a staple recipe for the family this summer!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
Everyone at Christmas dinner said they loved this even though I wasn't too impressed. I used spicy turkey sausage but I think I'll try to find sage flavored sausage next time. It was better the next day in my turkey sandwich. If you don't have day old bread, just buy croutons and it would work the same and probably would be easier by skipping that first step. Roughly chop the apples as I diced and thought the taste of the apples was lost. Craisins were a great addition. Bon appetite!

Pat's Mushroom Saute

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
Great recipe but it also needed something else so I added roughly chopped onions in as well. I think next time I will add roughly chopped parsley as well. Recipe is still really good without these changes and tastes like it would in the restaurants. Bon appetite!

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
French toast came out ok, but I felt I was missing the fluffy part, maybe because I used brown bread instead of white bread. I wanted to like it but felt it came out dry or too doughy if I soaked the bread in longer. Will continue to look for a french toast recipe that'll give me that fluffy taste.

Grilled Delmonico Steaks

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
Good recipe but I followed the advice of other reviewers and did not add the salt content and was very happy I didn't as it was salty enough. Any more salt, and I'd feel my ankles swell. LEAVE OUT THE SALT! Bon appetite!

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
My family absolutely loved this even when I was indifferent. Came out really moist and with a lot of corn flavor. It was easy to make so I can't complain. Recommended for those who love corn! I might try to reduce the amount of liquid so it comes out like a cornbread rather than a casserole. Bon appetite!
