About this Cook
My other hobby is grand kids.I don't know why anyone would but My e-mail is robo_b58@yahoo.com. Other blog http://robograndmasaid.blogspot.com/ Kids talked me into facebook Robin Davis.
My favorite things to cook
Any thing that makes another happy. I love to eat, but I love to cook for others more. I like to see a big smile. To be honest I like to hear Wow that was good
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies with the kids and now grandkids. I have one of my own. I love to sit thumb through my grandmothers & mothers old cook books and notes. They would review and rate them in the margins. My mother would also leave slips of papper in between the pages with jokes on them so she would not forget the punch lines.
My cooking triumphs
I would have to say I have two, the Hot Pepper Jelly in this site. Came out wonderfull the first time. Making my own corned beef.
My cooking tragedies
About every 4th time I make divinity. I know what I'm doing... but it's like the cooking angels are giving me a leson in humble.

Cocoa Rum Balls
I was looking for a quick filler for my cookie tray for hubs work three years ago when I found this one. I was perfect as is! I did make changes over the years. I now mix this in my food processor after I use it to crumb the vanilla wafers. I store the mix in an airtight container for two days then add 1/4 cup more rum. I use spiced run in place of the light rum. Then after two more days I roll in the confectioners' sugar. I think next year I may use a coconut rum and toasted coconut to roll them in. One year I ran out of rum and had to use some peach brandy I had in it's place. Hope I was helpful.

Saskatchewan City Steak Soup
Brought back memories of girl scout camp. We called it campers stew and added 1 cup of barley to the pot. I like this one because I didn't have to look for bugs. ;)
