So this year I'm going to sit on the couch, at my daughters house and smile and say things like.....

Are you sure I can't help...

....... and Baby that smells soooo good I don't know how you do it.

   and the ever popular ...

It all looks so good I don't know where to start.

After the feast....

I'm be saying things like.........

Oh my goodness I'm full as a tick.

You really out did yourself my dear, and you'er sure I can't help with the clean up.

 My favorite

........We really did enjoy it Honey.

It was so much fun would you like to do it again for Christmas?

I'm sure this will be the face I get.

Oh, you're so right on because T-Day dinner is soooo much work. Lucky you to have somebody taking charge of the meal. Just don't snore too loudly, remember, you must be gracious!

I'll be doing the same, robo. If my DIL actually said I could help, I'd be crushed. This is my son's first hosting. Can't wait! Enjoy your "day off".....I know I will!!!

Oh Ok heather it's but I use light Asian toasted sesame dressing in place of the Italian-style dressing called for.I also used our gr.beans out of the garden just parboiled them first.

She asked for the infamous black-cherry jello salad So I will bring that.

LOL, love it Robo. I waited for the day that the big meal was passed down to me, it skipped a generation and went from gramma to me. I love planning and preparing the feast. I also await the day that the tradition is passed to another generation and I can relax.

About Me
My other hobby is grand kids.I don't know why anyone would but My e-mail is Other blog Kids talked me into facebook Robin Davis.
My favorite things to cook
Any thing that makes another happy. I love to eat, but I love to cook for others more. I like to see a big smile. To be honest I like to hear Wow that was good
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies with the kids and now grandkids. I have one of my own. I love to sit thumb through my grandmothers & mothers old cook books and notes. They would review and rate them in the margins. My mother would also leave slips of papper in between the pages with jokes on them so she would not forget the punch lines.
My cooking triumphs
I would have to say I have two, the Hot Pepper Jelly in this site. Came out wonderfull the first time. Making my own corned beef.
My cooking tragedies
About every 4th time I make divinity. I know what I'm doing... but it's like the cooking angels are giving me a leson in humble.
