Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2014
Making the recipe as is is completely disgusting! Tastes like you're eating straight cumin from the jar!

Sean's Falafel and Cucumber Sauce

Reviewed: May 6, 2011
Didn't have time to make the sauce and I was bummed about it but the falafels were YUMMYY! Will probably use slightly less cumin next time and I did coat them with bread crumbs. Mashing the chick peas was really easy for me as I warmed them in a small non-stick sauce pan. Thanks for the recipe!

Butter Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: May 6, 2011
Great crust!... but it needs an old baking sheet under it so the butter doesn't melt and drip all over the bottom of the oven and make a mess. Very easy to work with!

Strawberry Pinwheels

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
These cookies have a great flavor! I don't recommend rolling out one dough ball and cutting it in half.. trying to roll it up was a pain since the dough seemed too small for the amount of filling to go inside. The dough on the outside edge of the roll didn't stick to itself so as they baked, the cookies opened up and the filling leaked out and burnt. Next time, I will divide the dough into 2 or 3 balls, but definately leave 1" of dough without filling on it to make sure the dough sticks to the rest of the roll and we don't lose any goodies.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
I always get frustrated at reviews which don't rate the recipe and instead rate the recipe according to the modifications that they have made to it... I can't lie.. I don't know how the recipe is without the modifications of worchestershire, soy sauce, hicory smoke, seasoned salt, extra garlic and extra onion. The modified recipe I can give 5 stars to. I am not a fan of turkey burgers, but I think without the mods it would have been a 4 star which is worthy, but why not modify it to make it rave-worthy? I love the modified recipe.

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2010
I have tried to make this recipe twice: the first time I thought it failed because I used skim milk (not by choice). The second time I used whole milk, but the directions are missing the fact that you need to let it thicken in the pan. How DISAPPOINTING to have to throw an entire liquid pie away not ONCE but TWICE simply because the directions neglected to specify something so simple. The next time I make this, I am definately going to let the milk cook longer than 2 minutes and use a bit of corn starch.

Easy Apple Cinnamon Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2010
I love these muffins! I made "Sarah's Applesauce" and used half of that and half the oil. When I make these I can't help but make them the way you would with other recipe (mixing the flour, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon in one bowl and the egg, sugar, applesauce/oil and milk in another) just so everything doesn't get so over mixed that it makes the muffins too dense. I took other suggestions: double the cinnamon and use 1/4 cup of butter for the topping. For the topping also I use 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup white and double the cinnamon for this as well.

Mayo-Free Tuna Sandwich Filling

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2010
Maybe it is just me, but I think the tuna was too dry with only 2 tbsp hummus-- so I practically quadrupled it. My chili pepper was of poor quality-- which I wasn't aware of until I started preparing everything. Next time I will be using marinated/canned chili pepper instead. Thanks for the recipe!

Mayo-Free Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2010
Great stuff! I used parsley instead of cilantro, about 1/8 cup red onion instead of 2 green onions, added about 1/2 tsp of celery salt, and doubled the pickle & celery.. Yum!
