Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 7, 2012
Tried this recipe last nite. The taste was Awesome. Had reduced sugars (used part white and part brown) to about half of what was stated and used mini choc chips to further reduce some sweetness. Found that baking 12 mins in my oven produced soft cookies whist baking at 15 mins gave hardier edges. I think I will bake a little longer next time. My cookies however did not have the cracked effect "Boo hoo!" despite adding the baking soda and hot water and the cream of tartar as was kindly suggested by one top reviewer. I will certainly make these cookies again. I am giving this 5 stars even though I had reduced the sugar based on my own preference only. Thanks Dora for sharing!

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 6, 2012
Simply awesome. I only used 90g brown sugar and 30g white sugar as the bananas themselves are already sweet. I baked one with soya milk for my sis who is vegan and she gave the thumbs up. Gadzillion Thanks Rose for a most delightful banana bread recipe. This will be my Go-To recipe henceforth for banana breads. YUM!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
Have done this thrice. Simply gorgeous. My friends and family said they were "divine" and "super delicious". I have tried with raisins and mixed dried fruits (the kind you use for fruit cakes) and these came out very tasty. Gadzillion thanks!!!

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
I found this cupcake to be good really. Like other reveiwers I added 30 ml extra milk. The taste was good except that I think I overbaked the cupcakes a tad (no fault of the recipe though). I would make it again for sure.

Apple Pie Muffins

These were Good! The recipe really does not need any change(s). The taste is nice, the texture is not dense ... just right. I used cupcake liners and the muffins were rather well-behaved and didnt really stick to the paper! THANKS!

Florida Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
I actually would give this 4 1/2 stars. They were rather good. Moist. I followed the recipe exactly. Only thing different was that I added some cinnamon sugar on top before baking. The strawberries tasted good with the muffins. Would recommend this recipe ... but would suggest not using any liners as the muffin does stick a bit to the paper.

Bacon Quiche Tarts

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
I followed most of this recipe except that I used cheddar in lieu of swiss, added red and green peppers (diced and sauteed with the onions and some flour) and a flaky butter pastry found of this Site. Also I sprinkled some grated cheddar to the bases of the pastry to prevent sogginess. The quiche was simple awesome! Will definitely make again and again and ..... Thanks Donna L!

Cinnamon Streusel Orange Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
Made these last nite. By Golly, they were GOOD! Even tho' I reduced the sugar by a tad, used concentrated orange juice plus a bit of lemon zest, nevertheless, I would still give it 5 stars since there ain't no 4 1/2 star rating. The orange flavour (after tweaking) just comes thru and the cinnamon sugar centre just completely blends with the whole muffin! If you don't try this, the loss is yours! Thanks so much Michelleca for this recipe. I am gonna Wow my family & friends with these muffins!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
Awesome! So simple for a neophyte like me. First time attempting a large cheesecake! I did use the water bath when I baked it and it didn't crack at all. The sweetness was just right. Next time may add a couple of TBSPs of lemon juice as I had used yogurt i/o sourcream. Can't get sourcream where I live. The only problems I had were how to transfer the whole cake from the springform pan onto another plate for serving and despite lining lining the springform with two layers of aluminium foil as suggested by other reviewers water still seeped into my pan.

Have made this recipe numerous times. Superb. I left out the rum thing though. Recently, tried whipping it up per recipe's instructions. Simply awesome! Easy to apply onto my chocolate cake and received many compliments on my effort. Thanks Ingrid! ***MUAH***

Cheesecake Cookie Cups

Just lovely! Follow the recipe to the letter. Fail-safe! If you want a thicker cream cheese layer, then I would suggest perhaps 1 1/2 TBSP of cheese filling.

Cream Puffs

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
I've attempted this recipe twice. The 1st time was a complete flop (pardon the pun - so was the puff!) On the 2nd try, the 1st batch also collapsed on me after I pricked the holes in them & removed them from the oven. For the 2nd batch, I baked them at 220 deg C for 10 mins and another 10 mins @ 190 deg C. Just after end of baking, I pricked the holes in them and let them sit for 10 mins with the oven off. Thank Heavens, these did not collapse on me! I did follow hints by MommyfromSeattle and some other kind souls. I shall be attempting another batch today until I get them right! Could not find instant vanilla pudding mix in my area, so did the whipped cream filling. But I think I Will perhaps do the Pastry Cream thing today per recipe posted on this site and subsequently the custard filling. Keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed this time for actual success! If you fail, do try again but I would advise reading the reviews as they are truly of enormous help. **UPDATE** On my latest attempt, I used a large star tip to pipe the dough. These baked up very nicely. However, my tablespoonfuls still collapsed on me! I will try again as I think I need to bake them longer to get them to dry out. I also did the Pastry cream found of this site and it was really delicious though one must follow the directions carefully.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2008
"Fantabulous" (fantastic and fabulous)!! This was my 1st try at making pizza. Had my fingers (and toes) crossed in apprehension but the pizza turned out very nice. Loved the texture of the crust. My family prefers thicker/softer crust and this suited them to a T as I rolled the crust thicker! My grateful Thanks to Jason and Allrecipes!
