Paprika Pork Chops

Made by the recipe, except that I didn't measure the seasonings I shook onto the chops (I think I was close though). The best pork chops I have made so far! The flavors came together wonderfully, it was reminiscent of a good German dinner. This one will be a new "usual!"

The Best Steamed Asparagus

I 'scaled' the recipe down for one serving (used 1/4 lb asparagus, 1 tbsp wine, 1/2 tbsp butter) and I thought it was good but missing just a little something--like a sprinkle of garlic salt for instance. With a dash of added seasoning, it is a five-star!

Mustard Crusted Tilapia

This wasn't *bad*, just a little odd. The flavors in the topping seemed to compete with the fish (and with each other) rather than complement it.

Simple Ranchy Breaded Fish Fillets

I prepared this exactly by the recipe, and it turned out wonderful! Crunchy breading, soft flaky fish, delicious. I'll be watching for tilapia to go on sale again now. :)

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Made this for the first time this weekend, exactly by the recipe, and I loved it! Even reheated, the meat is very moist and tender. I actually like that the meat isn't seasoned heavily "in the crock," that means I'm free to top it how I like when I serve it--barbecue, ranch, honey mustard... :)

Pepperoni Burgers

I really liked these! I used Hormel Turkey Pepperoni, which lowered the fat and calories quite a bit. I took another reviewer's advice and topped with provolone and pizza sauce. The pepperoni flavor really came through; I think they're my favorite "Pizza Burgers" I've tried so far!

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

I took these to a family dinner and they were a huge hit! I didn't modify the ingredients at all and they were perfect. I'm taking off a star because the recipe WILL NOT WORK as written, the eggs will be severely undercooked. It should say 22-24 minutes, not 10-12. Luckily I already knew how to hard-boil eggs, and otherwise the recipe is a keeper!

Citrus Chicken

This was really pretty average. Not a bad flavor, but not spectacular and probably not worth the work that goes in making this. Make the Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken instead, it's a lot easier and more flavorful.

Ranch Burgers

Great flavor on these, I love 'meatloaf burgers' anyway and this is a nice twist on them. Next time, though, I will probably use (rehydrated) dried minced onion instead for better texture; the chopped fresh onion seemed to break up the meat too much.

Broccoli Cashew Salad

I made this for a church function, and the recipe made three to four quarts worth of salad; I only brought home about 1 cup. Everyone loved it. The sweet and savory flavors blend well, and it's also colorful and attractive on the table--it really stands out in a sea of creamy pasta salads!

Taco Roll-Ups

I've made these several times for get-togethers and special occasions, and I get great compliments every time. I don't make any changes at all to the recipe, and I separate the filling into eight portions before I start so I know I'm getting the right amount on each tortilla. I always keep the 'ugly' cuts off the ends of the rolls for myself and snack on them all week after I make these. It's usually the only way I get any leftovers!

This was a huge hit at our Christmas get-together, there was barely any left over. I reluctantly had to leave out the MSG because I couldn't find any in the store, but now that I know that "Accent" is the same thing, I'll follow the recipe next time.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

I followed the recipe exactly (with the partial exception of pounding the breasts with a kitchen mallet) and it was to DIE FOR. I served it over a bed of herb-flavored rice and topped it with a dollop of Hidden Valley Ranch Dip for a 'cool' flavor to go with the spice. I can't wait to cook it again!
