About this Cook
Hey Allrecipes users! I'm 17 years old and starting my senior year of high school in the fall. My interest in cooking came from my family having the same meals every evening and wanting to be a bit healthier what we did eat. I've only been cooking for a little bit, but I've been getting the hang of it and am hoping to be able to cook serveral varieties of cuisine in the next few years.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking healthier versions of my family's favorite desserts, like ice cream and brownies. I also enjoy making my own pasta sauce, breakfast foods, and baking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas at my house used to mean a bunch of different ethic foods and desserts from the Italian and Polish sides, but that has stopped in the last few years. I really want to help bring that tradition back.
My cooking triumphs
So far its been that I can make pancakes the perfect golden brown color, but I hope that I get better than that. :)
My cooking tragedies
The only one (but probably not the last one) is that I got a banana bread recipe from a different site and it burned to a crisp. they put the wrong cooking time or something.

Vanilla Glaze
Has a very strong taste of vanilla. I like it that way, but others that want a more subtle flavor might want to cut back on the vanilla extract just a little bit.

Easy Pumpkin Muffins
These were the beast muffins I've ever tasted. They were very moist but done all the way through. I added a few chopped walnuts, but it would be still great without them. I baked them for only 20 minutes.

Scottish Oat Scones
These were absolutely delicious. The only reason they get a four is because of the modifications that I had to make. I followed some of the other reviewers suggestions and added 1 tsp of cinnamon, 1/2 tsp of nutmeg, and sugar on the top. they came out perfectly. I will definitely make them again.
