Orange Pecan Cookies

Normally we try to make recipes with lots of high reviews, but we gave this one a shot because it had both oranges and pecans. It was well worth it! Simple ingredients, easy to make, and oh so delicious, especially warm right out of the oven and dipped in milk!

Rustic Multi-Grain Bread

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

YUMMMMMM!!! We forgot to add the whip cream, but served with vanilla ice cream and was delicious! Make the day before and refridgerate, it brings out the flavors so much more!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

We will be using this recipe again. Delicious! And loved the fact that I don't have to use cream of mushroom soup! I used fresh green beans and steamed them beforehand so they'd be softer. Delish!

Very Cranberry Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is our family's new all time favorite cookie recipe!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely delicious! The first time my husband made them we used oat bran. The second time, we were out of oat bran, so he substituted with regular wheat bran and it came out delicious both times. We also used sliced almonds instead of sunflower seeds (we were out of those too) which still were delish! We used reg choc chips the first time around and white choc chips the second time. We doubled the peanut butter and the banana, which made them still turn out fine, and we pressed the cookies down with a fork before baking. We might add some flax seed meal next time. Thanks for this great recipe, it's going into our family recipe scrapbook!

Banana Bran Muffins

Delicious, wholesome, loved it! I followed the recipe except I didn't pack the sugar, but I don't like sweet muffins anyways. My hubby ate three muffins as they came out of the oven :)

Simple Scones

I made these before my friend came over for coffee and she said that they tasted better than Starbucks scones. I made two kinds (split the dough in half): blueberry cinnamon and the other kind which was the best and disappeared the quickest: milk chocolate chip and white chocolate chip with a simple icing of powdered sugar and a little milk drizzled on. Easy to make, makes plenty, don't overmix.

Fluffy Pancakes

Best pancake recipe we've found so far (that was made out of white flour). They cook great on the griddle, and taste AMAZING with either jam or butter and maple syrup. Almost like a thicker version of crepes. Delicious!!!

I made smaller biscuits so we could have enough with dinner, next time I'll double or triple the recipe and make them bigger. My hubby went crazy over them! Easy to make, definitely a keeper.

Chicken Cheese Chowder

It's delicious! I added twice the potatoes, used organic chicken broth, and grilled the onions with bacon grease and minced garlic. I also did not use processed cheese but I shredded a bunch of cheddar cheese and it turned out great.

One Bowl Brownies

Guacamole

Not the best guacamole I've ever had, but still okay. I followed the recipe exactly but omitted cilantro because I hate the stuff and never add it to guacamole. My husband thought it was alright too, but not exceptional. I let it sit for several hours in the fridge before serving.

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Oh my gosh this was delicious! My husband said to watch out cuz he planned to eat the whole thing that night! The only changes I made was that I grilled the onions with the butter first. I also didn't have ricotta cheese so I used cottage cheese instead and it turned out perfect too. Definitely going to be on our monthly dinner list!

Bread Pudding II

OH MY GOSH! EXCELLENT! Perfect baking time too! I've already had two servings and had to stop myself otherwise it'll be gone before the kids wake from their nap :) My daughter loved helping tear the bread up and mixing the eggs/milk. I added more cinnamon & vanilla than called for, and some nutmeg too, but that's just preference. So good!

Sausage Mushroom Quiche

Very good recipe. Instead of ground sausage I used leftover maple sausage links I had cooked up a couple days ago, I just chopped them up. I also added onions and green peppers and extra cheese. Otherwise same recipe. Yummy! My husband loved it!
