Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2011
Very easy recipe to follow and my kids love these. I made them last year for Christmas, I add green food coloring to them to make them into Christmas cookies & the kids are requesting them again this year. I followed the recipe as written and they came out perfectly.

Peach Cobbler V

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
I read this recipe & thought it was too easy to taste good. Since when is making peach cobbler this easy? I had to try it. I did follow the suggestions of other reviewers & upped the flour. I also used four fresh peaches, added 1 tsp nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, 1 tsp vanilla & 1 tsp lemon extract. Instead of just letting the sugar sit on my fresh peaches, I boiled the sugar, peaches, & seasonings while I prepared the flour mixture. It came out delicious!!! So easy and everyone loved it.

Banana Pound Cake With Caramel Glaze

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2010
I baked this cake, and it came out delicious. I was out of vanilla extract so I used one teaspoon of lemon extract & one teaspoon of almond extract. I also only had one cup of brown sugar so used 2 cups white sugar & 1 cup one brown sugar. The cake still came out delicious minus my substitutions. I also used vegetable oil instead of shortening. I think this recipe is just a no-fail recipe & the whole family loved it!!! Will indeed make again, except next time I'll have all the ingredients on hand. :)

Slow Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
As if this one needs another review... it was wonderfu! Quick, easy and delicious. The only thing I did different was to also add a little pepper to the meat and seasoned the meat during the browning stage- gave the meat more flavor.

Oreo™ Cookie Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
This recipe came out good, I too cut the cream cheese in half. I'm glad I did, I think the amount of cream cheese called for in the recipe would have been too much! My children loved it and the adults like it too. It's the perfect summer/spring dessert. And, it's very easy to make.

Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
This recipe came out to be a big hit. I too took the advice of other reviewers and did the following: 1)used evaporated milk rather than reg milk 2)add 1-2 tblsp of flour to thicken 3)add a tsp of lemon juice to enhance flavor 4)added a tsp of ginger & allspice Right out the oven I didn't think it was done enough because it was a little "mushy" for lack of better words but once it cooled to room temp it was the perfect consistency so be careful not to overcook. I was trying to find the best sweet potato pie recipe for thanksgiving and this one will be it. It's not too difficult the most time consuming part of preparation is baking or boiling the potatoes which took an hour for me. I used two big potatoes and it yielded two 9 inch pies. Thanks for the recipe! One less worry for thanksgiving dinner.

Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
I agree with the other reviewers. This recipe is much better with shredded cheese instead of the process cheese. I also used cream of chicken soup rather than cream of mushroom and yielded better results than following the recipe exactly. I gave it a 3 because I reserve the 5 ratings for recipes that don't require so many tweaks and changes to taste good. Thanks for the idea though, it was fun to work with!

Cinnamon Griddle Cakes

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
i tried this recipe and i found it to be delicious. If using an electric griddle, cook at 350 or below. I agree with the other reviewers in adding more cinnamon. In fact,I doubled the cinnamon in my recipe and will likely triple it next time. The outcome was delicous! I also added raisins to the last batch and the raisins definitely gave it an extra punch. It's pretty easy to make and will add to my breakfast menu for variety. This is definitely a twist from typical pancakes. Mine came out more like pancakes rather than the biscuit like consistency other reviewers mentioned. *They looked like the picture and I was pleased with the result. I skipped on the icing and found it be to be tasty enough with pancake syrup. I might try the icing next time for brunch. Don't want to overload the kids with sugar on their way to school! Thanks for the recipe.

Sausage Egg Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
I tried this recipe and it came out pretty good. The only thing I will definitely add next time is more cheese. I also added some milk to the recipe to give it a fluffier consistency. Other than that, will try again. What I like most about this recipe is that it can be tweaked to my specifications, add bell pepper or mushroom, use bacon instead of sausage. I will keep in the recipe box for future use. Thanks!

Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
I have made this three times. My family loves this recipe! Whenever my husband wants chocolate chip cookies, they want me to make them. They stayed chewy for a few days. I also agree with another review, make sure to grind the oatmeal up very thin (i used my food chopper) or else the texture is a little grainy. Very good!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of taking another reviewers advice and lightly flowering & browning the roast before putting in crock pot. I also seasoned before browning. IT WAS DELICIOUS!! Hands down, the best roast I have eaten. Anyone who gives this recipe a negative review needs to have their tastebuds checked! I also added carrots and potatoes after a few hours and it was just wonderful. The sauce was not to thick or too thin. several thumbs up. no leftovers.

Southwestern Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2008
I've made this a couple of times and every single time I make it I get rave reviews. I have tried the deep frying method listed and baking, comes out good both ways. Also when I don't have the patience to wrap the rolls, I serve this as a fancy dip with tortilla bowls. Great!

Beef and Parmesan Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2008
I tried this recipe on a weeknight for a family of four, one very picky little girl and a 12 month old... everyone loved it! I had to tweak the recipe a little because I didn't have beef broth or zucchini so I just used tomato paste & ketchup instead to thicken the mixture. It came out wonderfully and was ready in less than 30 minutes. Definately will make again.
