Day Before Mashed Potatoes

a have been making these for many many years. I use 1 t. garlic salt is the only seasoning. Along with the cream cheese and sour cream, I don't think they need the butter. I've experimented through the years with crumbled bacon, chopped green onions and cheddar or mozzarella cheese. I just like it without any of those. The problem with this dish is it's not good with gravy. A holiday meal like Thanksgiving, just seems like you should have mashed potatoes and gravy with the turkey. But these are awesome with ham, etc.

Steff's Shepherd Pie

My whole family LOVES LOVES this. it is YUMMO. I make it with green beans and I make it with peas and I make it with Peas and carrots. I put the mashed potatoes around the edge and leave a "hole" to pour the drained vegetables in and bake until it's heated thru. I can't quit eating it!

Frozen Mudslide

I love mudslides and I'm not really a drinker. You can use "Carolines" instead of Kahlua, much cheaper. I always thought it tasted like there was ice cream in it but have never done that. I'm not sure this is a necessarily good for the calorie conscience ones, as one reviewer said. Liquor is empty calories and then with the ice cream? It's delish but low cal? thinking not.

Five-Minute Blueberry Pie

I have made similar to this for years. I only cook 1 C. of the blueberrys though. So all but 1 C. are fresh. I use a baked pie shell too. VERY GOOD with or without any whipped cream or ice cream on top.

Asparagus Quiche

OMG! This was so good. I used 2 shallow pie crusts (WalMart brand and they were WONDERFUL) I think next time I will use just one deep dish pie shell and maybe add a little chopped green onion and milk instead of half and half. But it was so good I hate to change anything! My friend raved about it so much I sent the rest home with her. I have now made this several times. Using 1 deep dish and 2 shallow pie crusts. (WalMart brand frozen and they're awesome!) I have made it with half and half, made it with 2% milk and made it with skim. It's all good!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

I've been making this for way over 25 years, with exception of using 4 Tbl. rum in it, I use a DUNCAN HINES Yellow cake mix and I make a choc. glaze to drizzle over it. My choc. chips never sink. I get constant requests for this and they are so easy that I make 2 at a time.

Irresistible Double Chocolate Muffins

I wonder by what definition makes this "healthy"? It has wheat, which is found to not be so "healthy" by some. It has milk and eggs that some feel are not so healthy, it has 2 kinds of chocolate and it has sugar! Does adding flax seed make it healthy? I gave it a 4 cause it's not fair to give it less just because my opinion is different on "what is healthy". Use applesauce instead of the milk. That would cut that part at least.

I don't like sugar in things like this. Try some garlic powder IN the batter. Wonderful! I sometimes put shredded cheddar cheese and garlic.

I've made this for years, but I find the ranch dressing is too strong. I mix Mayo and Sour cream together along with dill, garlic, basil and various other spices that I have on hand.

Monkey Bread I

I don't cut the biscuits. Just kind of smash them out a little, put some of the sugar/cinnamon mixture in the middle and roll it or wad it up and put it in the pan. I always have to make 2 BUNDT pans full because everyone comes a running. I use 1 stick of butter and 1 C. of brown sugar for the sauce.

I made this tonight, an donly made about half of it. It was very good! I may not have baked it long enough cause it wasn't really "Crispy". I was afraid I would burn it. Limp but very good anyway!

Lisa's Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake

I've been making this for years! Only difference is it MUST BE Duncan Hines Butter in the recipe cake mix and I add 4 T. rum. I put a choc. glaze over it. don't spoil it with SUGAR FREE horrible tasting stuff. It's CAKE. Live with it!

King Ranch Chicken Casserole I

I have made this for years, but I do it in the crock pot and I use FLOUR tortillas, torn in strips. Cook and bone the chicken, put everything in the crock pot (also 1 C. sour cream). The tortilla's kinda turn into dumplings when it's done and it's DELICIOUS. Doesn't look so pretty, but it's so good!

I am making this right now. The only difference is I am putting in a little bacon and no ham and some fresh garlic and herbs. And I will NOT add the canned soup. Gag! and the canned poato soup is nasty!
