About this Cook
I'm a mom of 3 darlings who are difficult to please at the kitchen table. I actually love to cook, but they really take the enjoyment out of it because what one loves, another hates, and vice-versa. I am a full time student, so I don't have a lot of time to be creative much anymore.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything pasta-related. I also like to do alot of casseroles (although my children will not even try them)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Christmas cookies with my children every Christmas(like my mom did with us). I actually went into labor doing that one fine Christmas Eve, and had my son early Christmas morning.
My cooking triumphs
It is always a triumph when I get all 3 of my children to eat something healthy and enjoy it-it doesn't happen often.
My cooking tragedies
My brother-in-law visited one weekend. I made biscuits for breakfast (my husband had bragged and bragged), but I accidentally used regular flour instead of self-rising, and they were hard as a rock.

Scented Applesauce-Cinnamon Ornaments
This is indeed a wonderful tradition. 3 things...you should definitely strain the applesauce a little and eliminate the extra juice. I also always use a little white glue. Last but not least, Instead of a toothpick to do the hole, I always use a straw. It makes a perfect hole, like a mini cookie cutter, plus the stuff goes up in the straw and you don't have to worry about warping the figure.

Sourdough Bread I
I've used this recipe for several years now, and it has never failed me. (I looked it up because mine got misplaced) If you have never used it, you should know that you have to add more flour sometimes to get the right consistency. I think the humidity of your house has a lot to do with that. Also, sometimes the starter has to be revamped with a little yeast if it has been in the fridge for awhile.
